Calzaghe was one of the all time great. Ward will give him a good fight but I see Calzaghe winning decision here.

I mention this ridicuous scenario becaus eI positiveiy KNW for a fac, that Calzaghe RARELY finishes a fight without either a fractured knuckle or a broken hand. At leart very badly bruised. I've seen them. I think he throws straight solid punches intersperse with with a fast mixture of light and the side to side "shoe polishing" that he often indulges in, might give that impression.
Before his early hsnd problems emrged he was noted for his really heavy power. To compare him witm a drab like Hopkins very unintlligent.

haha ward has a better resume then calzaghe with half the fights. too strong? joe never had 1 punch ko power and no way is he physically stronger then ward, its funny how he's talking big now when he would never get invovled in a tourney like this when he fought. he went life and death wit kessler ward whooped kessler, he's biggest win was against over rated lacy and 2 old greats. cant talk big now joe your time is over

it's actually easier to hurt or break your hands when you throw those open handed punches so i don't really see your point. your knuckles are tucked a little so when you hit someone with your open hand it smashes them. it's not a 100 percent open handed slap but it's as close as you can get in boxing terms. and he doesn't throw slaps because he hurt his hands. he hurt his hands because he throws slaps. always has. watch his early fights. yes he throws straight shots now and again but his main arsenal has always been slap warfare.Last edited by daggum; 12-26-2011, 01:51 AM.

Hopkins is as far as i'm concerned one of the least deserving champions in history.
A 5' 8.5" Marvin Hagler, who was a small middle, and had to persevere for well over 50 fights before he got a chance at a title shot, avoiding nobody, I can understand, and he also had many 160 lb worthy challengers who kept him busy until he finally, near the end of his career got the big money change he'd been looking for. When Tommy Hearns challenged him. As unlike any version of Hopkins as possible to visualise........
Hopkins......I hold my nose........ Let his lunatic thug fan(atics) glorify him likw Caesar.....

Calzaghe hands down the most overrated boxer in a while, the biggest names on his resume are Jones and Hopkins and that was when those guys were past their best days, and he barely beat Bhop, it's still a controversy til this day, but the cokehead Joe never wanted rematch. what else has he done, beat Kessler ? thats another bum that gets too much credit he fights like a zombie. ward would outbox calzaghe but why is he talkin unless hes coming back and if he does return the first guy who will be down his neck is Hopkins.
