Comments Thread For: Hearn: Andre Ward Wouldn't Fight Bute in a Million Years!

Last Saturday night in Atlantic City, Andre Ward outclassed and outmuscled Nottingham's Carl Froch (28-2, 20KOs) to win the Super Six super middleweight tournament. Ward, who added Froch's WBC belt to the WBA belt he already owned, was the winner on all three judges' scorecards.

Hearn really wants that Bute fight, huh?

From what I've read, Bute signed an exclusive 3 fight contract with Showtime, where they've guaranteed millions per fight; 2 of the fights have already taken place against Magee and Johnson (who probably weren't the opposition they were hoping for, but good enough). Would Showtime really want to use that 3rd fight on Froch (who's a good fighter, but coming off of a loss)?

Showtime is going to insist on Ward-Bute... Unless that fight hits certain impasses, where the fight can't be made, Froch will not get the fight.

I have to be honest. I like Ward. But EVERY fighter in the tournament fought on a road guy's turf except Ward. As a matter of fact, this guy didn't even leave Oaktown until the final. I'm not saying he woulda lost, I'm just saying it's not fair that he didn't go on the road once. A Bute fight won't sell anywhere but Canada. Will Ward grow some nuts and go on the road? Ever? No. He'll discredit Bute (watch) as an opponent who hasn't fought anyone good enough to deserve a fight with him. Please...

You can't win a fight without attracting instant haters these days like flies drawn to crap. Hating is becoming an epidemic.

I must say that the Froch-Bute deal has been made quick. Doesnt seem as if the waters was tested so to speak.

Well, Ward's been saying he won't fight Bute yet so Froch is the next best thing.

Yeah right. Thats why bute runs straight in frochs direction. He wants none of ward. I laugh at him and his fans.
