This is a fact, its called dry snitching and its ridiculous. Canelo fought for a legitimately vacated belt at 154, that Pac won and was never going to defend, while Chavez won a belt that was taken from the recognized champion who had never lost it who was penalized for fighting tougher competition than his mandatory...

Canelo won a vacant title from Matthew Hatton, a welterweight who wasn't even ranked at 154 and they fought at a catch-weight to boot, and Canelo failed to make weight for the catch-weight. Canelo avoided everyone in the top ten for that vacant belt, even with several names like Vanes screaming they were available and ready to fight. Chavez won the title from a legit middleweight, Zbik, who got the belt after being Martinez's mandatory and being unable to get a fight with him.

It is all about money of course not that matter of a worthless belt for Sergio as he is the real MW champ everyone knows that. I doubt Sergio cares about the strap but doesn't want Jr. to find some way out and have him miss out on a good payday.

Because HBO wouldn't approve Zbik as an opponent for Martinez, he was put in the position of having to face Dzinziruk if he wanted to make a living -- at the expense of his belt. He took the Dzinziruk fight and wound up being stripped as a direct result of HBO's decision. That move gave the belt to Zbik, who had his interim tag lifted. Now Chavez is his mandatory challenger.

either way, martinez has the diamond belt and is considered chavez' mando. it's the legit belt of the wbc and he wants. he even said in an interview he doesn't care who chavez faces next as long as the belt is vacated. so if the belt is vacated and martinez fights for it against someone else, i think he'd tone down for a fight with chavez.

LArryz, what part of Martinez vacated the title to sukk on the HBO tit dont you get?

He could had fought his mandatory, but he chose to vacate and get the money from HBO, so if Chavez vacates and go for Rubio, he should not get criticize, because nobody criticised Martinez when he relinquish his belt to suck on the money tit.

Martinez is cherry picking on Jr. who isnt that good anyways.
