Good trainers train their fighters to keep their chins down and Peterson's style is forward motion also there was never ever a clear view or indication of him looking to head butt Kahn. All BS excuses and very typical of people in denial. You mention theory? The sport of boxing knows no "Theory" it's simply win or lose fair and square by points or KO. I saw no problem with the Ref or Home Town advantage to which i always found to be another excuse. Simply put Kahn is not that great a fighter (way overrated and HYPE) and anyone who does not believe that simply does not want to believe it and NOBODY will convince them otherwise. I get that!
He simply does not deserve a rematch because he was outmatched....period! If he does make a really ****** mistake by going up in weight he might as well just hang up his gloves because he's done. As for him Fighting Floyd? Thats the laugh of the Century. A little kid could call that one in.

Last, to be honest and clear: I was not impressed with Peterson all that much either and I LOVE Freddy Roach as a trainer and as a person but in my opinion he should focus on Manny and lose Kahn. Kahn lost the fight fair and square and Kahn isn't going anywhere at 140 or up in weight either.
Amir Kahn is the Justin Bieber of boxing. He now has a credibility issue to overcome and thats going to take way to much effort on any trainers part.

Very good post. Peterson should play his position and demand a 5 million dollar deal from Golden Boy with the first fight being a title defense for 1.5-2 million then a rematch for 3-3.5 million. That or a big money unification fight with Bradley (who would easily defeat him again). There was no rematch clause because Khan had no respect for Lamont now Lamont is in the driver's seat.

I am not a Khan fan, but he was straight robbed last night by the ref and the judges. Even with the ref's BS point deductions, I had Khan winning 114-111.

Peterson should give him the rematch in Vegas in March. He'll make even more than 500,000 in the rematch, and still has a solid shot at winning again, this time fair and sqaure.

Khan lost any shot at a Floyd Mayweather fight last night, unless he comes back and dominates Peterson in March, and than beat the Ortiz-Berto II winner.

Khan lost plain and simple, he always pushes the head down in every one of his fights whenever someone gets to close. Hes like a Wladimir Klit Jr. cant handle inside fighting so he resorts to rough house tactics. Khan disrespected DC like it was their fault that went down, when he really has no one to blame but himself. Khan is an ok fighter, not the superstar everyone makes him out to be. He will probably pick up a title again somewhere down the line, but he shouldnt be demanding a rematch because if I remember correctly, Maidana vs Khan was a good fight that could have deserved a rematch but Khan shot that idea stating "I already beat Maidana its time to move forward". Peterson already beat Khan I think its time to move forward haha.

Peterson should just make some defenses and chill Khan dont deserve a rematch especially since hes acting like hes in charge even after the loss. I bet Timothy Bradley is laughing right now, to think I used to think Khan had a good chance of beating him too. Bradley is a *** too he did duck Khan but maybe now they have a chance at fighting.

          F-ck fighting Khan next.

Go and defend the belts you just earned and maybe look for a rematch bout against Tim Brad and unite the belts. Make Khan earn another shot at those belts and attempt to whoop on him again maybe mid to late next year. Don't just throw away your biggest achievement in boxing so that Khan can use you as a stepping stone then dump these belts when he moves up in weight.

I always thought chavez jr was a hype job. He comes 2nd to none other than Khan. He lost his may- pay-day.

Glad to see the Khan haters out in full swing today! But seriously tho, u guys are dumb as hell, 2 of the cards read 113-112 (with a bs 2nd deduction in the 12th of a title fight? foh)... Peterson fought a good fight no doubt, honestly could have gone either way and thats why there should be a rematch. It was a close split decision with a ******ed ref responsible for a controversial end, you guys talk like it was a UD with a wide margin. Even if Khan won there should have been a rematch.

Interesting to hear Margarito say that Cotto hits like a girl when it's more like Kahn who hits like a girl. No power at all. His punches are like getting hit with little pink pillows. The speed is all air and fluff.

I love Freddy Roach but he should move away from Kahn. Let the creepy ego manic Ariza have him.

Last, I retract my statement that Kahn would beat Brandon Rio's. Rio's is far more a warrior than that egocentric bulls#it Kahn is and would end up knocking him out. Kahn sucks...what a blow hard. Guys like this are bad for boxing. He should go home and pray to his picture of Bin Laden.
                    ..........

                    What a ******.
