I thought it was a good decision. The fact is that Khan deserved 2 point deductions but not for pushing. 1 point for holding, and 1 point for the blatant punch on the break. So I agree with the amount of points deducted. Khan was holding to catch his breath and pretending like Lamont was going to but him . In reality Khan knew that when Lamont puts his head down he's getting ready to throw so Khan was catching his head so he would stop him and then Khan could catch a breather. Lamont deserved the win!

Cong**** to Peterson from the UK. I thought Khan would win by a couple of rounds but Peterson suprised me and I had him winning by one round.
I don't want to go into the ref's decisions. He was biased towards Peterson but at the same time warned his corner not to overrun their time and gave the KD against Peterson when most would agree that it was a tangling of feet.
Khan lost primarily because he has no idea what to do when getting hit up the middle and he lets his opponents then find their angles. The warning signs have been there since Maidana's uppercuts. Peterson exploited it and the fault lies firmly with Roach and Khan.
Look forward to the rematch and cong**** again Peterson.

Cong**** to Peterson. I thought the point deductions were justified, Khan was using his elbows and forearms way too much. I'm no fan of Peterson but I have to say that he impressed me with how he rolled a lot of Khans punches and kept up his attack.
I understand HBO feels the need to cry for a GBP fighter kind of like espn does for the sec in college football but the Kellerman and Merchant were embarrassing last night. About the only thing worse was Khan whining about DC and how he didn't get his way

Good fight but disappointing
I thought it was a great fight although I did think the ref was a little too quick to blame Khan for everything. Every time there was a clinch of any kind, he was calling Khan's name, never Peterson despite him leading with his head a lot. Yes Khan did some pushing and holding but I thought it was coming from both fighters, not just Khan.
That aside it was a good fight to watch. Kudos to Peterson's camp for the change of strategy. He was never gonna win on the outside and when he switched to the 'Rough him up on the inside' tactics in round 3, he never looked back. Khan struggles fighting on the inside and if you look at his last few fights, all the problems he's been given have been from that position. Khan is unbelievably fast on the outside, but on the inside he doesn't get enough punches off.
That said, if he hadn't been deducted the 2 points he'd have won the fight on all 3 scorecards. Disappointing from a Brit perspective but I think the right man won on the night.
Khan will no doubt want a rematch asap as his career cannot afford another blip like this. He needs those titles back. All that talk about moving up in weight should be put on ice and he should take a couple more fights before he does that.
One thing I absolutely do expect to happen now is for Timothy Bradley to start calling Khan out now that his winning streak has come to an end. It would be typical of Bradley after he refused to fight Khan more than once over the past 2 years.
I still believe Khan has something to offer, but he needs to win his next fight BIG or he'll be off to the knackers yard to join Ricky Hatton, David Haye and Naseem Hamed!

No controversy in this fight, it was ok. It was close, but no robbery... and I have seen Refs much worse than this one, who from my point of view did quite well, no even comparable to ridiculous Russell Mora... The guy has given countless warnings, you cannot be surprised if you get a point deducted in that case

At first I thought Peterson won fair & square but looking at it again Amir was hard done by. Wouldn't call it a robbery though.Last edited by Canelo Kev; 12-11-2011, 05:57 PM.
