excuses....But that second fall was not really a knockdown so he would have still lost, that was clearly a slip

The ref robbed Peterson of a legit win. When has a fighter ever been taken points away for pushing to get distance from being rushed in on? It happens all the time in fights.

Like Merchant said, "It's boxing, cmon, pushing happens"

Now I see why Roach wants Khan to stay and fight BamBam Rios

Its Time to CLean House and get rid of all The HBO announcers. Too many times they call a fight For the Head Promoter instead of whats actually going on in the Ring. They tried to do it with the Pacman/Marquez Fight and again with Amir Khan, who RAN THE ENTIRE NIGHT from a Soft Punching Lamont Peterson. Peterson is a great Boxer, however he is not heavy handed and still had to chase Khan 10 out of 12 Rounds. And did the Commentators mention this???? I will say that Khans Chin is better than i thought but moving up to Welterweight and Facing the likes of Berto, Ortiz or Mayweather will be a costly Mistake for the Future Track Star. I imagine GBP and Team Khan will Cry Hometown Decision, and maybe it was, but Maybe Khan Should Stop Copying Pacquaio and Fight, instead of Running like a Little Girl from a guy with No Power.

Khan showed his immaturity as a fighter tonight.

He gave away a few rounds he was winning, trying to show the crowd he could take a punch and showboating around.

I had him up by 2 rounds going into the last round.

I wouldn't call this a total robbery the 1 point deduction was fair and he must of known the ref was looking to take another.

I'm a bit disappointed but I think he brought it upon himself.

Not to mention the uppercut that Khan landed on the break. And Khan is a cry baby and would get murdered at 147. Also cong**** to Lamont on his big win!!

Even the biggest Khan fan in the house, waz, didn't believe Amir is ready for, or beats, Mayweather at this stage - give it a rest.

This outcome wasn't really a shock, anyway.

How big of an upset will it be if Lamont beats Amir?

Away from that, it's a surprise if he loses to Peterson, but not a seismic one.
**** what you heard, waz is also one of the realest Khan fans in the house.

This is good for Khan in a way. He regressed too much to the guy who gets drawn into fights too readily -- that'll probably always be a part of who he is to some degree -- and the gaps in his game were exposed again; but not getting the decision laid on for him and being forced to learn from this performance is probably gonna be better for him long-term than if he'd been let off the hook. Again, he showed his heart and balls (they both did, and it was another FOTY contender featuring Amir Khan), now he has to work on not needing to show so much heart and balls in the rematch.

Amir's already shown he can bounce back from a far bigger setback than this. The only real damage done is exclusion from the Floyd sweepstakes for now, and that's not necessarily a bad thing - youth is still on his side, and I've said for a while that Amir should concentrate on being a fighter, keep doing business and cleaning up at 140, where he can still do plenty of learning, and let the big ones come in their own time.

I still think he beats the crap out of Berto at 147, although I wouldn't wanna see it for a little while yet. Get those titles back, then do a rubber match if necessary or fight at least one other notable guy at 140 before heading up.

That's grounds for a 2 point dedution automatically lol.

Section 1-9.3 of Boxing's unified rules.: No Douche Bags are allowed in the ring. Failure to limit amout of douchebaggery will result in a 2 point deduction. Lol.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldve taken another point away for those just ugly yellow shorts and get up that made the team look like a bunch of canaries.

you know, i thought HBO was being too harsh on the ref.
to me the Ref warned Khan numerous times, although he did not stop and say
"do it one more time and a point will be deducted" But the first deduction should have been a sufficient deterrent.

Khan, and if you notice Linares(noticed last fight) and Pacquaio(not so much now) do one MAJOR thing wrong. they all are horrible at resting while they are fighting.....They let there opponents in and let them unleash combos on them, they then do the glove tap to basicly say bring it. they dont know how to tie up and push fighters back.

anyways with this fight, i really had no problem with Peterson winning. i had it a draw, but man so many of those rounds were razor thin.
GREAT FIGHT, and would love to see the rematch
