Yeah, I can see Brewster getting gassed. Wasn't he winding down in the German fight? (Ignorance for not remembering the opponent's name there)
Luan Krasniqi, European Heavyweight Title holder
hes a solid figher, but hes no james toney
he was beating brewster before he changed tactics in the 8th round, and started trying to ko brew.
    bad choice

He beat Ruiz, on roids, Guinn, Rydel Booker and Holyfield. I dont know why anyone would think he's a GOD but he is one of the most skilled technicians in the HW. Wlad has great offense but shaky defense. Byrd has the best defense but no offense. Toney is great at both.. thus far.

He beat John Ruiz with his eyes closed...

Johnny isnt a guy that should excite people but he seems to beat all of the other HW's so when Toney completed befuddles him it should be seen as impressive.

            1. This is not a fight King is planning. King has stated several times in reccent interviews that he's planning to stage Rahman vs Toney in the new year.

            2. Lamon Brewster grew up training with James Toney as a young man, and has admitted Toney used to beat on him on a regular basis. He's said he considers Toney his hero, and said he would never want to fight him unless he was forced to and the payday was huge. If he was effected by his relationship with Meehan, you can imagine how he'd feel when fighting Toney.

            3. When and if this fight ever did take place, thinking Brewster's power is the key element is non sense. Brewster throws very wide and telegraphed shots. Toney's defense is very tight, and he'd take Brewster to school.

brewster loses because he has no tactic to counter toneys defense. toney by ud or late stoppage.

How well in condition do you guys think Toney needs to be in this fight? I definitely know he'd have to be in WAY better shape than his last couple of fights.

Toney wouldn't want Brewster off of him.

Jirov threw more punches against James Toney and possibly landed more than any fight ever in the cruiserweight division as recorded by compubox. Brewster hits much much harder than Jirov, he can go to the body, but he is also much slower.

Brewster would land very few meaningfull punches against Toney and even if he did land a couple shots, I dont think its going to kill Toney. Also its important that Brewster doesn't have alot of foot movement and is short, which works in a major way toward the favor of Toney.

Out of all the current title holders I think that Brewster would actually be the easiest for Toney to defeat. Byrd being the hardest. Rahman, the mediocrity he is, probably mathches up fairly well against Toney. He has height, strength, and a jab if nothing else.

toney may look like he is in poor shape but that doesnt mean he is. when was the last time anybody saw him really tired?
