Jirov went to the body and had loads of success and still not enough to win. Brew is bigger and Toney's counter shots will land but will not impede or hurt Brew the way they did certain other fighters.

I think your blueprint is perfect (Jirov), Brew if he fought like Jirov would give Toney trouble...in a way I stand corrected....but still cant see Brewster fighting like Jirov...he was a wild man that night.

I still am pissed off at the 117-111 card for Toney...that wa a real close fight until the end.

      hmm

That may be true. It would be an interesting fight. Brew has been inconsistent although lately he has impressed me with solid wins and more tenacity. Toney is so smart and confident that he mentally defeats fighters. If Brew can just believe in himself and will himself to destroy Toney to the body, he would win I think. I sure hope this fight comes off. I'd root for Toney I think, but I like Brew lately as well so who knows who I'd root for come fight time.

I hate to disagree, but this is a big if on Brewster's part.

I'd leave BS if ANYBODY KOed James Toney in the first round...some of you are ridiculous.

Brewster isn't very hard to find, and Toney would dissect him with sharp punches upstairs and down all night. Toney would see Lamons punches coming quite easily.

I can see this being a competitive fight for 6-8 rounds, but Toneys accurate punching would take its toll on Lamon and he'd be forced into throwing 1 punch at a time.

Toney by UD or possibly (most likely not) late stoppage.

Thank God for a bit of sense. 1st round KO of Toney?

Yeah, I can see Brewster getting gassed. Wasn't he winding down in the German fight? (Ignorance for not remembering the opponent's name there)

That's just the thing, by all accounts that I've gotten of the bout with Krasniqi, Lamon just ****** away on Kras' body until Kras dropped his hands and Lamon hit him with some nasty hookage. It was a fight Brewster was losing, but he was laying the groundwork for a late stoppage the entire time while eating some stiff punches himself.

The difference in this fight is that James Toney IS NOT Luan Krasniqi, and Brewster won't be hitting him cleanly very often (which is the case with many of Toneys fights).

If Brewster rushes Toney he will look silly.

I think that if Toney can avoid getting knocked out then he'll have shown enough skill along the way to get a points win.

However, I can't see his punch troubling Brewster other than decisioning him, and has even Toney the chin to face a proper heavy like Brewster?

                What say you?
i think toney is the only person who can beat brewster right now
that being said, there are hw'd that can beat toney out there as well.
                this should be interesting...

The only problem i see is Toney dont hit hard enough to keep Brewster of off him

                    Devastating power? No...

Power enough to make Lamon respect some of the punches he'll be getting hit with? Yes...

He'd feel the flush right hands hitting him in the face and body trust me...

I know I bring up Wlad too much but look at the punches Brew took from him. It four rounds of brutal punishment for him to wobbly, and Brew still kept commin. But then again, power isnt everything, look at Byrd
