W. Klitschko eyes March 8 date for next defense
The target date for WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s defense against mandatory challenger Alex Leapai is March 8. The Klitschko camp wants to stage the bout on that date in Germany, while the Leapai camp is looking to bring the fight to Australia. If no deal is worked out by January 3, a purse bid will be held with a minimum bid of $1 million.
