Actually a good post. And it cost Marquez a best ever (then) purse of $750,000, which he exchanged for a $32,500 purse with Chris John, to find out. An expensive lesson I think. As I recall, he has always been very inclined to follow Beristain's instructions, and it was he who advised him to demand $1.5 mill. I remember at the time all the press and commentators blamed Beristain for being too greedy. Marquez too of course.

Still is=t was a good if not great fight, spoiled for the masses because the fireworks and KO that MannyP's handlers promised did not occur and Pacquaio was visibly dejected going back to his corner after the 12th rd. Not because he'd lost, but because he had let down his fans, who are always the first thoughts on his lips.

That's why he want's a 4th fight, to try again for a the spectacular KO.

WTF? He wants a 4th cause he knows who won that fight and if the fans are first on his lips then he comes Mayweather but Pac already said he wont choose the next fight and leave up to Arum. So......

Marquez deserved the money the other time around and Arum screwed him by low blling him. He beat John and if you saw the fight he beat him. But then again Arum already had plans for Pac so maybe this has to do with the same Maidana situation where they offered him 150, but they said more, to fight Bradley just so they can say we offered Maidana and he said no. But this cant happen in boxing. Arum is not like that. Boxing is in no way corrupt..right

It was a close fight that could have gone either way. If Marquez won that fight, you won't hear me scream robbery. I make fun of the foot stomping, but I don't cry about it. I make fun of the piss drinking during the fight, but I don't make a big deal about it. Don't blame me just because your expectations were over the top like the media.

Mayweather should be next, but it looks like he had other plans. First, Mayweather told WSJ he didn't know Pacquiao was his opponent for May 5th, before Pacquiao-Marquez III happened. Second, you don't see Mayweather anywhere protesting a fourth fight between Pacquiao and Marquez. Third, you don't see Mayweather responding to Pacquiao calling him out in front of the millions watching the post-fight interview.

So what does Mayweather do? He is letting Ellerbe and Golden Girl convince the public it is Arum's fault, when Arum's on record saying no decision has been made yet, so Mayweather can be a happy duck and quack another lesser opponent.

If marquez was given his rightful win i doubt there would anything close to this much controversy. I had no expectation on this fight but i did see Marquez won it and a majority of the media did as well. Mayweather has other plans? No i think its Arum who is saying PAc has other plans but here we go with a Pac fan still saying Mayweather doesnt want it when Ellerbe came out yesterday and said they want Pac. Oh let me guess its ellerbe not floyd so it cant be true but didnt Pac say he not choosing his next fight and letting Arum choose it but you Pac fans will still think he wants it. No mention of floyd after the fight and still waiting. Arum has mentioned Mayweather but also bradley and most of all hes pushing a 4th fight with Marquez cause he thinks Pac won all three so why not a 4th. Makes sense right

For those asking why this didn't happen more often in their first two fights, it should be obvious from the Face Off video that both fighters are clearly aware of the importance of this position and are fighting for it. Pacquiao is a bit more technical now, remember?

Another thing that should be noted; it was a clean fight with both fighters touching gloves after punches strayed and accidental head clashes. On some of these occasions, Pacquiao would point things out to the ref by motioning, such as pointing to his waist when he thought punches might be low or to his head after the accidental clash of heads. He never pointed toward his feet.

Negotiating power does not have anything to do with what is being asked.
You, and the rest of Floyd's and Marquez's fans and sympathizers, claim that JMM won the fight and showed that Pac is just ordinary, a hype job and whatever. You also claim that Floyd is way above Pac, JMM and all the rest of the possible opponents for Floyd.
Now Marquez fought Pac w/o ost, and according to you, won that fight, so why can't Floyd do the same?

Mosley busted Margarito (the p*ssy) before the fight and then beat his ass, and exposed the fact he was trying to cheat which made the win all the more sweet.
