Did HBO officially announced the numbers already?

At this point, it really serves Pacquaio no purpose to fight Mayweather. His team has done such a great PR job in this whole soap opera with Mayweather, Pac has won the war without having to fight the battle. If they never fight, Pac will go down as historically better and Mayweather will be "at fault" for the fight never happening. If they do fight, Pac is likely to lose in a manner that will make this rise to superstardom look like a total farce. Fighter of the Decadem farce. P4P KIng, farce. ATG, farce. And as long as you have legions of ******s like the ones who infest this site willing to suck up every BS spin The Bobfather and crew throw out to avoid the fight, why fight a fight you probably can't win?

I hope this doesn't turn into a Tyson/Holyfield scenario where we have to wait before both fighters are past their prime and been dethroned before we get to see them go at it. Morales already took his payout in his 3rd fight against Pac-man when he did the infamous "roll over." and gave up while not stunned.

I think in order to save the sport of boxing...I would love to see the two of them (Pac vs. Floyd) go at it on Network Television. Let's face it...HBO has approx 27 million subscribers...so a reg HBO bout is not an option. A PPV showdown would prob draw 2.2 mil or so PPV buys bringing in 120 mil. Lets put it on Network TV for ALL to see, put some good legit undercard matchups.

The problem with a network bout is that at best, there's only 12 rounds with 1 minute between rounds for advertising. Compare that to the Super Bowl which can prob squeeze in 40 minutes or so of advertising.

In order to match the 2.2 mil buys @ $54.95, they'd need to draw some major ad revenue...approx 120 mil. If they could get $3 mil per 30 sec ad x's 12 rounds, that's $72 mil. Plus you ad in all the pre-fight ad revenue and undercard ad revenue and they should be able to get it to $100 mil. Prob is, how do we guarantee a 12rd. fight? Other than the fact that most of Manny and Floyd's recent fights have gone the distance.

Anyway, food for thought. I think there's still some exciting matchups as evidenced by last nights action on both HBO and Showtime except for the fact that Bute/Johnson seemed to be a bit of a yawner. I mean, how much of a fan would you be of a sport if all you ever got to sample was AA baseball or the CFL for football? I think Pac and Manny have the chance to save boxing and still make a fair paycheck. In the end, it's greed that's going to kill boxing. At least Dana White has MMA pretty much controlled outright and can put the fights together and do it in such a way to grow the sport. With no one governing body looking out for what's best for boxing, we continue to have nobody show up for fights like Devon Alexander and Tim Bradley which even though it turned out disappointing to some degree, it deserved more attn than it got. Boxing is lost on the mainstream america these days which is why we have a problem matching up anyone other than a filipino or a mexican together, or 2 mexicans. If we can get some interest generated back in the sport...we can get better matchups that are based on talent, not the fighters racial origin. And yes, I'm calling out myself here.... Haha.

I'm inclined to agree. After Barker exposed that Martinez can't get outta the way of a lead right hand, I'm sure Mayweather is plenty confident he can land his at will against the middleweight champ.

Just like since this whole soap opera started Mayweather has been rumored to fight Nate Campbell, Paul Spadafora, Canelo, Kermit Cintron, and the list goes on and on. Come on buddy.

Did`nt Arum say Floyd asked for 100 million to fight Pacroids?
Did`nt Arum say Floyd turned down 65 milion dollars to fight Pacroids?
Did`nt Arum say Floyd would never fight Ortiz cause he`s supposedly scared of Southpaws?

All turned out to be bull**** but yet people still believe Arum bull****.

And the article claimed a source confirm Goldenboy tried to do a fight between Floyd and Morales but yet none of you have actually seen the article but yet some of you are dum enough to believe it.

Some people actually think Floyd would fight a fighter like Morales SMH.Nothing surprises me anymore.

Why is it that Team Pacquaio and their worshipers spend a heck of a lot more time trying to convince the world that Mayweather is "scared" of Pac and the fight won't happen than legitimately trying to make the event a reality?

Wasn't there a rumor that KFC was fighting Ortiz and he denied it at first and then lo and behold the fight was already signed and made?
