Maybe if he didn't know the repercussions of a pullout or maybe he felt that it was better to sit out a long time than take a loss against Ward.

I don't think so. Dirrells team said that it wasn't 100% sure he was going to face Ward because the money was right. They said it was a super fight and for that they would have to get paid as such. Seriously, what a fucking bitch.
