    Yes, he's an ATG.

Whether he doesn't lose for the rest of his career or he loses 10 times. He's still an ATG.

And people over react way too much with the whole 'he could have been so much more' bull****.

But as you say he is probably Mayweather's best win.
When did Cotto become "ELITE" to you??? Before or after Foreman since that was the FIRST time he actually beat a champ. Diego Corrales MAB Erik Morales > Cotto. Jose Luis Castillo Acelino Freitas > Yuri Foreman. Not saying Diego is an ATG but he was better then Cotto at this or any point in their careers so far. Which one of the men Cotto beat for the vacant belts would u say are better then JLC or AF??? Not an attack just would like to see your point of view.

On topic: Yeah he can lose the rest of his fights hes still an ATG now where he is on the list is an argument for another day but hes on their based off of his accomplishments already. Same rule of thumb applies to his contemporary.

he never said that cotto was on the elite level that MAB and Morales are, i don't think so either.... he said "hell.... even cotto" that tells you right there he wasn't mentioning in the same terms.

don't twist things to try and prove your point bruh...

Bull****. He will known more for the fights he didnt take, his nonsense attitude, and his out of the ring garbage. I agree he is a HOFer but tho say his legacy is sealed, and that other jazz, like he has nothing left to prove is utter nonsense. Hes a borderline ATG. ATG status doesnt come with ifs and buts, and thats all Mayweather is. He will be known for being a borderline b*tch when it comes to ATG status. He never took the "Ill fight anyone attitude". Hes very typical. All excuses and sideways talk. Thats why he so flashy, to hide his issues.

He is an ATG fighter, no doubt about that for me, but he simply hasnt fought the very best fighters around at the zenith of his career, in fact he has actually avoided them. Its only my opinion, but I reckon people will always take that into account when evaluating his standing 20-30 years from now, and the 'reasons' he gave for not fighting the likes of Cotto, Margarito,Pacquiao etc. will look pretty bad.

Its quite frustrating as a boxing fan because I would have made him favourite to have beaten all his contemparies, just going purely off his attributes against theirs. The only guy I see giving him a really hard time is Pacquiao, but I would still bet on Floyd winning that on points.

A great fighter he is, but could have achieved so much more if his hunger for glory was even half his hunger for money.
ARe Margarito and Cotto HOF fighters? Cotto maybe, Marg no way. Manny is just as responsible for the fight not happening. How does beating Margarito enhance floyd's legacy? Is it any different than beating Baldomir?

Right on the nose. If he was a true ATG he would have been the one chasing around the top level competition and not used politics and the finances as a reason to fight easy fights. If he were an ATG he would have wanted to challenge himself as much as possible and fight the best out there. Instead he devotes his attention and focus to making a spectacle of himself and act as if he could care less about everything else.

The level of opposistion Floyd has faced is not in the league as some of the past greats.

The Klitschko's will never break the heavyweight top 10 no matter how many more wins they get because there is not the great fighters around for them to fight.

Floyd should have relished the chance to fight Pacquiao and even the like of Cotto, Marg, Martinez, but for some reason he has chosen not to take that path.

So we can only judge him on what he has done, not what he could do, and what he has done compared to others puts him around 40-50 ATG for me.

I agree somewhat that he will be more remembered for his ****head persona than for his accomplishments in the ring, which is sad but he in part brought that upon himself. On the other hand if he chooses to fight Pacquiao and beats him convincingly I think he'll take a lot of wind out of the argument that he's avoided tough competition. Manny is 10 times the fighter that Cotto and Margarito will ever be and a win against him would do wonders for Floyd in ATG status discussions. He really just needs to fight Manny at this point and his legacy as one of the best to lace up the gloves is sealed.

The people who do this do so because its the only way they can hate. Somehow a man who has fought 20 champions or future champions somehow has poor competition. Every HOF fighter manny fought at ww floyd fought 1st. SOmehow, cotto, marg, and clottey get overrated by haters because floyd didn't fight them.

Thats the same idiotic mentality shared by the manny ducked zahir raheem crowd.
