If Floyd fights Martinez, how can any "boxing fan" hate on that fight?

Despite how people act now the Mayweather does make exciting big events. Oscar, Hatton and Mosley were all major and Martinez would be up there with those for me. I was extremely excited to see those fights and this fight at any weight (apart from 147) would be crazy!

However, I hoped that this fight would be after May/Pac. I hoped that they would get this years fights out of the way and then face each other in May 2012. Either way Pacquiao or Martinez whoever Floyd faces is a risk seeing as he has only fought 4 rounds since his Mosley fight.

Floyd will have full credit if it will happen 154++ but below that especially at 150, its total trash like Pac vs Margacheato ...

For Mayweather, a win makes him the greatest fighter of this generation. One of them loses but the fans sure don't. All speculation for now.
I agree, so long as for some reason sergio doesnt come in looking like oscar did fighting manny at ww.

If sergio beats Floyd, I'm not giving him credit either way. He gets more credit for the Williams & Pavlik wins.

If Floyd wins, I'm not giving him credit unless it's at 160. The same standard that I apply to Delahoya vs Pacquiao. You may be beating a name, but you're not beating him at his proper weight. And usually, the bigger guy doesn't shrink down to fighter smaller fighters, it's the other way around.

The bigger fighter's abilities are far more hindered if he shrunk down a weight class, then the abilities of the smaller fighter, who is moving up. Moving up only means, less dieting during the training camp.
So do you give Hopkins credit for beating Pavlik, Trinidad, etc?

                I don't see how's that relevant?

Especially Tito. How can B-Hop not get credit for it?

There would be no way to hate unless it is under 154, simple as that.

There would be no hate from me if Floyd fights Sergio at 154 at all. But maybe if Floyd hadnt retired so much and long, he would have fought Sergio ages ago already. Better late than never i suppose.

True. They get irritated when you put Sergio and Floyd in the same sentence. They want Pac and Sergio.
