Keep thinking that .. son... most Everyone retires after there last beatdown & subsequent nightmares of it... Lennox Lewis no different... Big George part 2 is so far the only example who escaped the beatdown... Joe Calzaghe as well.

You just answered your question... Vitali somehow found a way to do it even if the boxing gods called his fight vs Lennox a loss.... in this case it was a loss & strip of Lennox's last title belt & a failure to renew his boxing license.

I'm glad you mentioned that. It doesn't seem to be well known that Lewis was threatened to be stripped if he didn't honour the rematch with Klitschko. I've read that they gave him a 30 day ultimatum to arrange the fight or be stripped, and he waited until the last day and retired just before they legally stripped him. Typical Lewis.......always spiteful to the last.
