ortiz is a MUCH bigger draw, and MUCH more well known than clottey. . . he's mexican-american - come on - he's gonna be known. . . dude had his own promo show on HBO before. . . The Maidana incident. . . gtfo if you honestly think clottey is even close to being the draw ortiz is.

    OWNED. . . that's all, thanks
Not totally diagreeing with you. Vic doesn't have more fans than clottey persay, but he is a mexican american fighting a black man on mexican independence weekend. For the last 25 years this has proven to be a profitable formula.

They count as closed circuit revenue. Have nothing to do with PPV.

That means it did about 900K-1 mil, probably around 950K. General rule of thumb, whatever the projections are on fight night (and that's where Kim got his info) are about 25% higher, or more, than the actual #. Nice haul considering the opponent.

Although Floyd is a huge draw amongst both boxing fans and people who tune in and buy his ppv's hoping that he finally loses, he's also turned many people off with his behavior. People who would tune normally have tuned in opted not to after seeing his immature obnoxious behavior.

You got there quicker than i did. No matter what you think about the ending it was a terrific show. Floyd and Manny will only be bigger now.

lets break this down for a minute...

Mayweather the PPV king + a mexican fighter + mexican independence weekend + Morales on the undercard = at least 1 mill

but the thing is 2 years ago it was the same...same date...a mexican...Floyds comeback and it "only" did a million PPV...and Marquez was/is a bigger name than Ortiz...
