I thought Arum was slick enough to have been able to convince this guy that these are part of the game and that makes boxing interesting..Am not surprise he is a lawyer by profession. He is so good are turning everything to his advantage including Pacquaio's finances.
The unnamed guy from the unnamed company who was invited by Arum's unnamed friend?
Lol, becuz there was no company. That's the ******est thing I ever heard.... So that guy was willing to give some money to boxing (and who exactly would be getting this money?), but becuz of wut happened on Saturday, changed his mind?.... That's just ******ed
That’s bull ish.. Tha Berto fight was more grueling and lasted 12 rounds, if he didn’t seek away out during that fight why would he on this fight? It was only 4 rounds in, Ortiz hadn’t been hurt, it was a close fight so far.

This is what I've come to expect from Golden Boy. They knew Ortiz wasn't ready for Mayweather or the big stage. One fight doesn't make anybody, a lesson that should have been learned from Buster Douglas. Let a guy put together a string of 3 or 4 fights and then put him in the big time. Berto biggest win was a life or death struggle with Collazo. Berto although talanted was overated and beating him should not put you in elite status because he wasn't in elite status, like I said his biggest win was against Collazo. Golden Boy teamed with Floyd took advantage of the less knowledgeable boxing public and casual fan one again like matching him with Marquez at 146 when Marquez only fought above 130 once at 135. Now matching him with a very green Ortiz. Although Ortiz had a belt he won it from a guy who biggest win was a battle with Collazo. Titles mean nothing unless its the lineal title or Ring magazine title, which normally are the same person. Ortiz was a alphabet Champion and he proved it. With his performance and mental breakdown.
The only one that loses is boxing because when you promote a fight that shouldn't take place you lose the casual fan and new fans. How do you gain fans from the overmatched Ortiz headbutting Mayweather, the Mayweather sucker punching, to cursing out 80 year old men on TV. That does not bring your sport to the main stream. But, you won't lose the base because people who know about boxing know to stay away from that BS, like matching Floyd with Marquez at 146 and Ortiz. Manny's 3rd fight with Marquez is BS but the difference here is Manny is an KO action fighter and what we've learned from Tyson, Gatti, Corrales, Castillo, Ward, Tszyu, Margarito, Cotto, and Pacquiao - Win-Lose-Draw, everybody wins when there is a KO seeking action fighter fighting. Blood, KnockDowns, Heated Exchanges, etc. etc. Boxing will never die but at the same time will never be main stream again as long as it tries to sell the public Ortiz vs. Mayweather as a must see event...
Ummm..... Manny Pacquiao has put on some garbage fights against guys who had NO business being in the same ring with him and at catchweights. Manny who is supposed to be the P4P king of the sport has fought guys coming off of big loses and no champs at all (only at a catchweight and for a vacant catchweight title) If you want to criticize what Mayweather did fine, but Pac ain't been making the best fights either. Arum used the media to build Pac up into the fighter he is now by matching him against guys that were already considered lunch meat before they got in the ring with him. Floyd/Ortiz ended too soon but it had more action then Pacquiao/Clottey/Mosley by far.

That fight wasn't close just check the punch stats. If Ortiz was as confident as he was in his fight against Berto then he would have never threw the head butt and slimy follow up punch out of pure frustration and desperation to hurt Mayweather.
This is one of the few times that I agree with Arum - Ortiz wanted a way out of the fight but he didn't quit in a way that would get him criticized. Ortiz could have made the count but he wanted nothing to do with Floyd's right hand anymore.
I looked at the way Ortiz was getting up, there's no way he was out of it. How long did the doctor stay with him after the KO?
I totally agree. Ortiz could have beat the count but he didn't want to. Berto hit him twice as hard and he got up and won the fight. Mayweather has never been known for power in his punches so even though he wasn't expecting the punches they weren't powerful enough to knock him out. He could have gotten up but he didn't want to because he knew he was in WAY over his head and was heading for a late round stoppage. For those who say he was doing ok in the 4the round watch it again in slow motion. You'll find that very few of those wild punches were finding the mark and those that did had no effect on Mayweather. I think the fact that he couln't get to Mayweather caused frustration and hence, the blantant headbut, which he had already did before. I'm with Arum on this. I think he was trying to get disqualified. I don't think he's ever fought dirty before. He didn't with Berto. Face it Mayweather haters, he's the best defensefive fighter that ever laced up a pair of boxing gloves.
I stated this before, that Fraud choose Ortiz because of his inexperience. One fight in the WW division doesn't make you dangerous...and all this build up from the Team Fraud that Ortiz was a young, strong lion was true...but they also forgot to mention was that he was also inexperienced. And it showed last Saturday night...Fraud is a clever match maker to make himself shine. When is Fraud going to fight someone worthy of his skill...when is Fraud going to chanllenge himself, instead of just making "another ****** payday?" And I'm not just speaking of Pacquiao, because there are many other EXPERIENCED WW out there that can ****. Pacquiao fought most of them; Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and Mosely...and won. When is Fraud going to step up? You can't call yourself great and not have the backing on your resume. And for those saying that Pacquiao is fighting and old man in November; well that's true 38y/o in boxing is cosidered to be the twightlight of a boxers career...but that old man (Marquez) is considered 5th in the proverbial P4P list of Ring Magazine.
