I get it, so anytime Floyd fights now he must touch gloves and ask the fighter in the opposite corner if he's ready.. then touch gloves again, re-ask if he is ready and THEN throw punches.... I guess fighting when the ref says fight does not matter in Floyd Mayweathr fights anymore...

Everyone acting all surprised.... only ****ing noobs.. If you followed Mayweather you KNOW he don't play that BS... when you are in the ring... YOU FIGHT... not play ***g*t kiss and grab ass like Mosley and Pac did for 12 boring rounds... That is BS... that IS what hurts boxing.. when you cherry pick an old man who hasn't won a fight in years and then play ***g*t grab ass for 12 rounds hoping to "out-do" Floyd....

Protect yourself at all times. Only people that are angry about it are Pacterds.

In our world, we're witnessing more and more of our fellow humans increasingly unable to distinguish right from wrong, or vice-versa. If you think the Bible is just myth, or not prevalent, think again, as It tells you a whole lot of us would turn into rude and uncaring beings. Although I would eradicate boxing or any form of sport that brings the beast out of anyone, what Mayweather did was simply that—ignoble and downright sneaky—and he knew it, or so I hope by now. Granted that Cortez should have been wiser—his half-awake eyes told me he needed to retire already—and Ortiz acted the very green rookie that he was, let's not make any more excuses for Mayweather's treachery—a dog is a dog, a cat is a cat, and no ifs or buts. His way of life, outside the ring, speaks poignantly—and volumes!—about that two ugly seconds he exhibited who he really was. What a low blow!—especially to himself. Truly, I feel sadder for him that night.

        Are you talking about the same Pac who couldn't even handle JMM (2X), a defensive counter puncher? Lets hope Pac doesn't have any problems fighting him now at WW and ends it very very very early. If he doesn't it will validate that;

        A. Pac is getting old
        B. STILL can't handle defensive counter puchers
        C. All the above

Let alone having to land 56% of his punches on JMM while only letting JMM connect at less than 15%. It shouldn't be a problem, right?

**** THAT NO ****ING REMATCH!!! for what!!!! so they can get even richer for a sparring match, a match ortiz has no chance at winning, and why the **** would anyone reward him for what he STARTED!!!!! ortiz is as much to blame as mayweather and cortez...........

          it was the trifecta..........

no rematch, either floyd steps up and fights martinez or pacquiao within 12 months, or there should be a BOYCOTT of his fights, because no other fights are meaningful in regards to floyds match ups.........

**** NO ON THE REMATCH AND **** WHO EVER SAYS THERE SHOULD BE ONE BETWEEN JOYBOY AND WHORTIZ........

I took the liberty of editing your post to match my thoughts exactly on this fight. In fact, I've already said some of the things you did on different threads.

What a crock of **** this article was from beginning to end. The writer claims his favorite part of a fight is the mutual sign of respect fighters show each other?? Wow. Personally I like the punching, and defense, and footwork, and ring generalship...etc... This guy must have the Pacquiao - Mosley fight on a loop if he likes fighters touching gloves and playing grab-@ss.
I love Evander, but come on man. The guy who uses his head as a major part of his arsenal, admittedly hits guys low if he feels he's being fouled, but No, he wouldn't have thrown the LEGAL punch that Floyd did if he had been in that situation? Who the hell is he trying to fool?
This article stinks as bad as anything Ronnie has ever posted.

trust the bloggers -- the sedentary bystanders with no experience in the matters they speak of -- to form the most unrealistic, impractical notion of the "Fighters' Code" imagineable. The idiotic fantasists probably expect all pugilists to conduct themselves like Dudley from Street Fighter. In fact, the Playstation is probably the closest they've ever gotten to real violence.

Was it because of fear of Ortiz getting lucky with a clean shot in the coming rounds?

                  Was it revenge?

Floyd acted like he too wanted to hug/embrace. I've watched it several times. He nodded to Ortiz and gestured for an embrace but only to sneak in his cheap shots a second after.

I think Floyd did it because in a millisecond he saw a quick way to win or, if not, to gain his revenge. I understand Floyd didn't underestimate Ortiz as a threat. He found a quick way to overcome the threat.

For me, I wouldn't feel satisfied with my win if I hit a guy who wasn't ready - legal or illegal. It would make me feel like I didn't face the real challenge and I took the alternative to win without facing that challenge.

Floyd may have won the first four rounds but we can only infer and guess how the fight could have went on had that incident not happen because Floyd, in our eyes, did not overcome the real challenge last Saturday night.
It's not the first time he's done that. The guy is a certified coward.

So you approve and admire a boxer who sucker punch an opponent to win a fight.
