    LOL Mayweather getting owned.

WHO WAS SERGIO MARTINEZ 5-10 YEARS AGO??? DONT MEAN HE AINT NOTHING RIGHT NOW.

MAYWEATHER IS PROBABLY THE DUMBEST GUY AND I CANT STAND HIM. HE SAYS THAT IF A BOXER ISN'T SHOWING YOU ANYTHING WHEN THEY ARE 18-20 YRS OLD THEN THEY CANT BE GOOD/GREAT FIGHTERS WHEN THEY HIT 25-27 YEARS OLD. LOOK AT BERNARD HOPKINS. LOOK AT ARCHIE MOORE. LOOK AT SERGIO MARTINEZ BECAME UNDISPUTED CHAMP PASSED 30. THERE ARE MANY FIGHTS WHO GET BETTER AFTER THEY ARE 25 AND THIS F@CKER TRIES TO ACT LIKE US FANS DONT KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN THE PICTURE IS RIGHT INFRONT OF US.

      Let's see...

2003, he beat Barrera at 125lbs.
2004, drew with Marquez at 125lbs in fight of the year.
2005, lost to Morales in his first fight at 130lbs
2006, beat Morales twice at 130lbs
2007, beat Solis, Barrera at 130lbs
2008, beat Marquez at 130lbs, Diaz at 135lbs

Anybody who knew anything about boxing has known about Pacquiao at least since his fights with the ring legends Barrera, Marquez, and Morales.

Of course, you don't sound particularly knowledgeable to me if you've only heard of Pacquiao since he moved up to 140-147lbs.

I really respect/like Mayweather as a fighter. But he can't just make stuff up and except it to be accepted as the truth when it is the opposite of reality.

The first Marquez fight was a headliner at the MGM grand and the first Barrera fight was (IIRC) on the undercard of the Tyson Lewis fight. Real fans have known about Pacquiao for a loooooong time.

My comment completely went over most of your heads. Never did I say that I hadn't heard of Pacquiao before he fought De La Hoya, nor did I discredit any of his accomplishments. What people here somehow fail to realize or take into account is that the internet only makes up a fraction of the people who actually buy fights. I said that hardly anyone knew who he was before he KOed Dela Hoya, by hardly anyone I mean mainstream America - the casual fans that buy PPVs.

The reason that Pacquiao knocking out De La Hoya was such a big deal was Mayweather/De La Hoya was a huge fight that went to a split decision, so seeing Dela Hoya stopped after the 8th round a year later makes people say to themselves "If Pacquiao did this to Oscar, what do you think he could do to Mayweather?"

It was followed up by the fact that his very next fight was against Ricky Hatton, someone else that Mayweather had just fought. I don't really feel like I should have to lay this out. I'm not saying that Pacquiao isn't a great fighter, I'm simply saying that Top Rank's strategy for making him into a mega star was to fight people that Mayweather had already fought and do a better job.

By pointing that out you think I'm not knowledgable? Really?

When Mayweather said "Where was Pac during 1996-2001", he was referring to him Mayweather already being on the P4P list since 1999 and being undefeated.

Pac didn't reach P4P status until 2002-2003. That's what Mayweather meant by the comment.

yep, why was Mayweather not asking for a fight with Pacquiao?

It's arrogant to suggest he was dominating just because he lives in the US, boxing takes place all round the world, ask Vitali and Wladimir.

I doubt that to be honest, and PFP list is illusory anyway, it's a made up list. Floyd was just being insular only looking at who was doing it in the US and not around the world.
