Affordable and fun. A bar is another option if theyre showing it near your area. Lastly, I think a movie theatre is a great cheaper option if you don't have any friends who likes boxing. I would definitely love to watch it in a theatre but I don't think they sell alcohol (at least near my area). I have to have a bottle of suds when i'm watching a big event like this. But anyways, this will be a fun event, cant wait.
I do the same thing (when I'm the one purchasing the card). If you think it's worht it, that's cool. I respect your opinion.

Great article. I wish everyone would just come out and say this PPV is really $70 bucks since most people nowadays have HD flat screens in their homes.

Only a cheapskate would pay $60 to see a "mega" fight in standard definition on his flat screen tv.

I put in the disclaimer about the $10 extra only because I've never been charged for it.

You guys are paying 70 bucks for HD? You should switch to cable where HD is free. HAHAHAHAHAAHHAAAAA. I was surprised that the fight is 60 bucks. That
's crazy but, I'm gonna pay it. That is if my cable doesn't get zapped before that.

Leave it to Golden Girl to slap the fans in the face with the most expensive boxing ppv of all time with only middle of the road matchups and a main event that is by no means a super fight. This is blatant cherry picking by Floyd who should be fighting Sergio Martinez

I will be waiting for a MagicPotato release of this fight. 1080p HD at 60fps, for FREE. Fck it! WHo wanna pay $70 to see a fix fight? You have to be a pea-brain to even think Victor Ortiz will defeat Gayweather, by KO, by UD or TKO. He won't, because he has been PAID not to. So unless you are really entertained by Floyd doing some shoulder roll for 12 rounds, then go ahead and shell out $70 for an HD version of this fight.

Again this is again a big blackeye to the sport of boxing. We have Floyd Mayweather Jr. who admitted that he does not care about fans of the sport who is fighting this coming weekend. Mayweather is just fighting for a big payday not for you boxing aficionados...would you spend your hard earned money to watch an a&&hole like this?

If he is an *******, why are you in multiple threads posting about him? Seems kinda silly.

It's the GREED that kills boxing... yesterday I watched the countdown to Hagler-Leonard from way back... and they showed what both fighters earned till this point - Hagler had earned before his LAST FIGHT about 25 million... and Leonard till this point 42 million... and these fighters always gave it their all and fought hard...

Nowadays it is all about PPV and you make so much money in ripping off fans... I mean if you are a star and have good PPV numbers you need about one or two fights to earn what a legend like Hagler has earned in his whole career - and they get greedier and greedier...

Mayweather-Ortiz is great - I mean Mayweather will always be viewed as a cherry picker it doesn't matter who he fights (probably with the exception of Pacquiao but then again they will say that Pacquiao is smaller)... he fights a good young lion and it is a good tune-up...

Because Ortiz is physical stronger then Pacquiao... and I think Pound for Pound Victor punches with more power then Pacquiao - at Welterweight Pacquiao doesn't kills you with one shot - he just lands so many punches, so accurate and most of them you don't see... that he rolls over everyone... but we should also see in Pacquiao that even though he had Cotto hurt, Mosley hurt etc. that he couldn't finished them when they were moving away from him - Mayweather has the best footwork and in generell so smart...

Many questions his chin I still don't know why... they saw him hurt in the second round against Mosley - first of all I don't think that many would have taken that right hand by Mosley and the second one was in the temple area where you loose control over your feet - Mayweather's legs were hurt but his mind was always sharp and there - Mayweather has a pretty good chin.

Ortiz is talented and I like him but let's face it - Mayweather is no Berto - defensively way better - way smarter - accuracy - Victor has to be on top of his game - the only chance he has is to go all out but Mayweather will land hard enough that some doubt will creep into Victor's head - he always does it - against Mosley he did it - against Hatton he did it - even against DLH - they all felt Mayweather's power and they all felt that every mistake gets punished on top of that it's so hard to hit him - against Mayweather it is not only physical it is also mental - the fighters start to cramp mentally - that is his biggest strength - I think Mayweather will win an decision if Victor gives up during the fight and only wants to survive - if he is brave and tries till the end Mayweather can stop him.
