arum really dpes'nt want the fight. i remember brandon rios saying ortiz was getting the better of pacquiao in sparring leading up to the david diaz fight. arum says pac can beat mayweather but ortiz has no chance. anyways last time i checked both pac and ortiz are under dogs against mayweather.

Trying to figure out why these 'so called' journalists are able to slip in sly remarks that aren't objective or even quotes from the subject they are reporting on. This guy basically said he's supporting Ortiz without saying it by belittling Arum's opinion on who wins the fight. Maybe Bob just understands that Floyd is too good for Ortiz, just like the Vegas bookies do!

Earlier this week, Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum was asked to handicap next Saturday's big welterweight fight between Victor Ortiz and Floyd Mayweather Jr. As he always does, he gave an opinion that suits his needs - in this case, millions upon millions of dollars promoting a fight between his company superstar, Manny Pacquiao, and Mayweather being the opponent in other corner.

In the usual snide accusation whenever Arum is mentioned, what the reporter is actually doing is comparing him to the so-called Apostle Paul in one of his so-called letters.

How does a reported, who is supposed to report the facts, allowed to inject his own subjective comments ito what is supposed to be a factual report. And then, after he says that Arum is a convenient liar, goes on to admit that he is actually accurate. Thus guy needs either therapy or to be fired.

In actual truth. Arum IS correct in everything he says, Mayweather is too experienced and the opponent is to young and new to the position. And if he actually wins, this would make a fight with Pacquiao an even greater attraction than a fight with Mayweather, which has already become worn out, and past best date.

after going of vaca for these years and letting his fans and the boxing public

down while claiming to be the best ever without fighting the best around him

then why would he deserve such a payday?

As a former die hard Pac fan, it's been down hill since the moment Pac ducked Nate Campbell to fight David Diaz. Its been the Bob Arum circus show since that evolves around Mayweather. According to Pac, he doesn't really need the fight though.... he just needs to "out-do" him or fight Ortiz if Ortiz beats Mayweather. I guess he needs the Ortiz fight who Pac thinks has a good chance at beating Mayweather. Did I miss something or is Pac saying he needs the Ortiz fight more than the Mayweather fight? Is Ortiz really that great?

Bottom line, styles make fights, Bob knows this and knows if a fighter can't win the fight shouldn't be made. Perfect example is Bob speaking on the newly crowned WBC WW Champion who Bob thinks shouldn't be fighting Mayweather. What makes people believe he's not in the same mindset for his biggest investment (Pac)? Its not rocket science.

Bob knows Mayweather better than anyone, like Ortiz why would Bob put Pac in with Mayweather? Maybe now, but not 2 years ago. Roach stated that Pac wasn't even ready for a fighter like Mayweather. They know. Now that Pac's career is winding down and has nowhere to go, Bob will allow this fight to take place now. The only concern now is, Pac is stating that he doesn't need the fight. That's really disappointing. Then again, like I first mentioned, I was a former die hard fan of Pac's and it looks like nothings going to change.

I'm afraid you're allowing your dislike for Arum (what did he ever do to you anyway) cause your tongue to run away with you. Not even the most ardent fan, NOBODY, has MannyP. on the ATG list as being in front of Robinson. This MUST be a lie. So just slow down and listen to what's pouring out of your mouth. hey dumbass.mayweather makes way more money than pac.who only gets 27% of his total earnings.if they fight.pac makes alittle more but gives arum even more.
