its obvious one of the kd's was heavily helped by the slip, but that can't be on Mares. there was a punch and the ref called it. the second "lowblow" knock down...that should've been a point deduction.

even without the lowblows Mares would've been the winner.

Agbeko deserves the rematch no doubt.

That was some of the worst officiating I've seen in recent years, outside of the first Bute/Andrade fight. Other than that, I just don't see how this verdict can stand. After further review, I expect the Nevada State Athletic Commission to either declare this bout a draw or at least a NC at best because a fighter cannot win a contest let alone a championship title fight on fouls as Abner did. IMO, he should have been either disqualified or penalized two points at best for that kind of blatant misconduct.

Mora should be banned from boxing for life and Mares should be stripped of the title. Mora is a disgrace to not only boxing but to all sports. You wonder how he can sleep at night by knowing that in front of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of viewers around the world, he did one of the worst jobs in boxing history. A rematch should not even be necessary. Mares should be stripped of the title. EVEN his own corner knew that he was getting away with low blows. Between one of the rounds, his corner man told him "watch out for the low blows... the ref is going to take a point away. If Golden Boy or Showtime let this go away, then both of their credibility will be lost, since viewers will know that cheating is just part of the sport and their boxing schedules are nothing more than going to a WWE event, where every thing is choreographed, and the ref is just there to look like an idiot.. like Mora

You must be really bad at math if u say the 1 point deduction wouldn't have played a factor. Mares won by 4 points the 11th was scored 10 8 in his favor. Now the 11th was a round agbeko was clearly winning he would have gotten a 10 points for that round and mares would have gotten an 8 makin it 113 for both a draw n agbeko would have kept his title.

I don't condone the use of low blows in any fight and although there were a handfull of clear and blatant low blows that undoubtably deserved a point deduction many were right on the belt line where most would agree are legal considering the belly-button wasn't showing...that being said, Russell Mora did a di****able job (or lack there of). Another thing that nobody is talking about was the 113-113 card, I don't know how you can find 8 rounds to give agbeko?!?! The fight was close, but not nearly as close to a draw if you factor in the knockdowns legitamate or not

The low blows without a single point deduction were so obvious that the color commentators no longer could ignore them. Their blatant and bias commentating really skewed the way the fight was really going. Look at that fight again on mute and Agbeko was landing clear shots that the commentators FAILED to give him credit for.

i saw the fight and had mares wining most of the body blows were on the belt line, some looked like the body blow that khan knocked out judah with right on the belt line where it is legal and lets not overlook adbeko headbutts and rabbit punches that nobody is talkiing about, what about that? in the mares was the better fighter that night.
