I think its unrealistic for Ortiz' trainer to ask his man to go out and keep applying pressure from start to finish. For him to be effective he needs to be calculated so he has to look at what Floyd wants him to do and what Ortiz is capable of.

Floyds an older man and likes working at his own pace so the answer to that is to make him work at a higher pace and make him use his legs. Floyd is good at picking his shots and timing so Ortiz has to use ambush tactics boxing in and out in attempt to stop Floyd from establishing a rythm. Ideally Floyd does not want to go looking for Ortiz so he'd like the younger man to stand in punching range bringing the fight to him where he can be countered. Therefore Ortiz has to do what Floyd doesnt want him to do and keep moving using the ring instead of coming in straight lines.

Victor has to look at what advantages he has over Floyd that he can use. He may have an advantage in power and he may not, He may have more aggression but he may not. 1 thing Im sure he has over the older man is workrate. He should be able to lift the tempo to make Floyd uncomfortable. View the fight as a 12 round battle and be prepared to be taken into the trenches. Alot of people have questioned Ortiz' heart but I think he will be determined in this one. That desire alone will make it interesting but the rest is down to tactics. The battleplan will need to be perfect if he is to stand a chance

Heavy pressure for the first 2-3 rounds. He must jab and set up his left and not simply lead with it all the time.

If he hasn't made any inroads then he's unlikely to after that. So from then on just make sure he takes minimal damage so he can fight top opposition again.

i will buy a live chicken

and make a fence ring the same size as the ring their gonna use at fight night

then i will ask ortize to practice catching the chicken inside the ring for 20 rounds

i bet that will make him prepare to catch floyd in the ring for 12rounds

another non-fan who thinks boxing means you should run in the middle of the ring and throw wild punches until someone falls down.

watch some boxing before posting on boxing forums idiot.

Ortiz doesn't need a plan. He should just go all out balls to wall for as long as the fight lasts. Ortiz should be in the best shape of his life stamina wise for this fight. Why plan when everybody knows Ortiz can't out think or out box PBF. Ortiz only advantage is power just go all out throwing bombs. Nobody really expects him to win anyway so be reckless never know what might land the affect it could have.

With all due respect, you didn't really outline any game plan. You mentioned things you want him to do but you didn't really outline a GAMEPLAN.

Listen, Ortiz CANNOT box with Mayweather, he will lose and be picked apart. So your theory of "using the ring" suggests he needs to move and use angles and not allow Mayweather to counter him but that will only lead to a boring, one sided UD by Mayweather because he will just pick Ortiz apart.

This fight isn't rocket science, Ortiz needs to come in and PRESSURE Mayweather as much as he can, get inside and use that right hook, upper cut combo that he throws so well. Muscle Floyd, use his size, strength and aggressiveness to beat him.

Mayweather will NOT come forward, it's not who he is, it's never been who he is. People that buy into him standing and ****ing with Victor are falling for the BS that comes out of Floyds mouth. Floyd is a counter puncher by NATURE, it's his comfort zone and where he is most effective.

People might say, "Well he stood in front of Mosley didn't he?" Yes but Mosley isn't a pressure fighter, he can **** but he also has the speed and boxing ability to stand outside. He was very jittery with Floyd, he tried to match Floyd skil for skill from the outside and that's why he lost. His LACK of aggression is what cost him the fight.

Ortiz needs to come in and try and run over Floyd, do it for 12 rounds and Ortiz has shown he has the stamina to do it. In the 12th round against Berto he was still moving forward, still throwing extremely hard shots. Ortiz needs to take advantage of that, try and overwhelm him.
