Hahaha, look at the poll. You eliminate the jab as a punch, why because Pacquiao doesn't have one? LMAO! The jab is a punch just like a straight right hand, left hook, uppercut, etc. I hope this was a joke. If Floyd and Manny fight each other we will see just how accurate they are. Pac fans are losing their minds.

I saw him fold Corrales and Hatton with crisp jabs to the body. Those are effective blows that kill a fighters stamina. Just listen to George Foreman during the Corrales fight when he explains how meaningful Floyd's jab to the stomach is.
Pacquiao since 1999 and Floyd since 1998. The few fights I wasn't able to see, I either youtube, or downloaded.

Floyd is one of the most accurate punchers I have ever seen, its just that I feel Manny has him beat in this area.

Floyd doesn't waste punches and makes sure every one counts. That a testament to his greatness and skill as a fighter, and I do agree with you on the fact that his effectiveness is what kills his opponents.

You still have to count the jab. You can't discount it because Floyd is an accurate jabber and Pac throws the straight left ad nausuem.

How many punches besides the straight left are actually accurate for Pac?

The jab is just a punch Manny doesn't commit to, which is why his jab connect percentage will never be high. He is more concerned with using it as a set up, rather than trying to establish an effective one to control his opponent (ala Winky Wright or Wladimir Klitschko).

That is a weakness not a strategy. Manny has a bad jab. You are giving him credit for having a bad jab.

It's refreshing to see that you actually watched their entire careers unlike some of these idiots on here. With that being said, we can both agree that probably 85% percent of Pac's landed power shots are the straight lefts down the middle to the head or stomach. He's relentless with that punch and it might be the strongest punch in boxing when you look at it from a pound-for-pound perspective. But what if that punch gets neutralized as it did during Marquez 1 & 2 and portions of Morales 1? Pac really can't land anything else if somebody adapts to it. He's not accurate with any other punch.

Mayweather, on the other hand, can land the jab at will up top or to the body. Some fights, he might go with the leaping left hook to the head. In others, the lead right hand is most effective. Sometimes he stays outside, but he also slugs it out in the trenches if he has to (ex: Castillo, Corley, and Hatton come to mind.) He can mix it up his game while maintaining his accuracy.

When I look at their careers, Floyd is way more versatile with his offensive game. He can throw a variety of punches and not hurt his accuracy. Pac is more accurate with his power left down the middle, but that's it. That's why I say Floyd is more accurate.

Pacquiao throw more punches and is a combination puncher, both these things redcue accuracy. On top of this Pacquiao is a harder puncher and throws harder puncher, another thing that will effect accuracy.

We also have to forget about the jab as the jab is use to open a defence and find range, so it can be used effectively even though it is not landing.

Pacquiao also lands his punches right on the button, **** on the chin, Mayweather punches are more scoring punches.

Pacquiao landed an astonishing 50% of his power punches against Mosley while Mayweather landed an impresiive 46%, still 4 % less than Pacquiao. And Mosley was in defensive mode when facing Pacquiao and Pacquiao was throwing more punches than Mayweather.

So what is there 6 fight average?

                  Pacquiao 52%

                  Mayweather 50.2%

There you have it the stats back up my theory and add to this Pacquiao throws more, hits harder and throws more combinations and higher punch combinations, you would have to agree Pacquiao is the more accurate puncher.
that is because pacroid never fought a slick figther... he padded his hit ratio on flat footed brawler slow figthers with poor defence and they just stand in front of him.. lol

i consider pac a phenomenal puncher.

but saying that he's more accurate than floyd?

that may be stretching it a bit IMHO.

I just think its corny how the TS doesn't count the jab as the punch for this poll. I mean...really? Jabs have a lot more uses then setting up punches. It can even be used defensively. It can keep opponents from coming in. OR it can also be used to stop an opponent in its track. A simple snapping jab with the right timing can stop Pacquiaos aggression. People say that a jab isn't a hurting punch (which is why I think the TS isn't counting the jabs), but believe me...if a person runs right into a jab, you will feel it. So why shouldn't the jab count?? Because Manny doesn't use it to hurt, but instead uses it to set up punches? That, my friend, is corny.
