Mike Tyson was washed up before he fought Buster Douglas. However, Holyfield was 36 years old when he fought Tyson and his best days were already past also.

Basically, we had a Mike Tyson who was alot worse than anyone could imagine. Holyfield, even in the twilight of his heyday, just flat kicked Mike's ass pillar to post.

As far as Mike beating Holyfield at any age probably would not have happened. I think a 28 year old Holyfield KO's a 23 year old Tyson. Holyfield was just too tough mentally. He was always in shape.

Watch him fight Kawi at light heavy. It was like watching light weights **** it out for 15 rounds.

Evander Holyfield was one of the great heavyweights of all time. Mike wasn't.

Styles make fights, Holyfield had a style that was tough for Tyson, Tyson was done fighting 1990. Tyson wasn't the same, and fighting was still in Holyfield's blood. So the answer to this thread is.........hell no Holyfield didn't beat Tyson!!!!!

If Tyson learned to fight on the inside, he would have had so much more success in his career.
This posts tell mes everything I need to know about your knowledge of Tyson, you clearly have never seen the man fight. Tyson was an incredible inside fighter in his day. Holyfield beating Tyson had nothing to do with Tyson's inability to fight on the inside, that is just nonsense. It was Holyfield coming in to fight the fight of his life and not being afraid, and Tyson not having a gameplan. Mike was just loading up looking for one shot, and Holyfield was countering him beautifully.

Holyfield beat Tyson because Tyson at that point was a headhunter and Holyfield made him pay.

its about time someone got it right. how can people say tyson was a poor infighter, watch his fights in his prime. he gets in close to his opponents to the point where their heads touch and he just destroys them to the body and finishes with uppercuts. tysons infighting in his young days was awesome and very few people had a clue how to handle it.

as far as this holyfield ****, it should go down in history as the most overrated fight ever. neither guy was any good at his point, tyson has made a 2nd career out of making others look good and getting them paid.

obviously u havnt seen tyson fight. especially in the 80s. why do u think he threw his jab for, to show people that he had fast hands. he threw his jab to get INSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!! duhhhhhhhhh. i cant believe u said that. what did u think he did with those short arms jab outside like ali. on all of his knockouts and yes i said all he get inside he never tries to stay outside. learn some **** about tyson before postin bull**** like that. dont judge jus 90s tyson. that would me like me judgin ali when he got his ass whiped by larry holmes and trevor berbick. cause ali jus wasnt the same. do me a favor and download some tyson fights in the 80s before judgin a legend

Tyson is just mentaly wreak, no doubt he was great, he missed four years of his prime, and he had already defended his belts like 12 times in 5 years...I think Tyson just lived wreaklessly. If you look at his record he became champion in his 2nd year as a pro. 3rd year he had
                      WBC Heavyweight Title
                      WBA Heavyweight Title
                      IBF Heavyweight Title

you live fast, you die young. Which is why PR boxers ussaly go down hill after ten years boxing...
