    Chris Byrd vs James Toney

We got a good look at both of them on Saturday.

Byrd mentions in an interview he's prefer to fight Toney next, and there is even a rumored date for this fight at the end of January.

Byrd will likely win this one in a boring, boring fight. Toney is out of his element when he needs to go on the offensive for an entire fight.

      I disagree.

Byrd is a lot easier to find now days. Just ask Fres Oquendo and Andrew Golota.

IMO Toney wares Byrd down and stops him late. If not, 116-112 Toney.

Byrd is significantly less mobile than he was before, and hes finding it necessary to stand in and fight as of late. He is not as fleet of foot and his skills are clearly diminishing.

Byrd ahead on cards 4 rounds to 3 through 7...Toney sweeps the later rounds and possibly stops Byrd in the 11th or 12th.

I think Byrd is MUCH easier to find these days, and Toney has the most accurate right hand in the biz.

I see Toney winning a UD. I see Byrd doing pretty good pecking away in the early rounds until Toney gets pissed off and throws the counter punching game out the window and starts walking Byrd down, throwing combinations when he gets close. The fight will be close, but the combinations from Toney will look better to the judges than Byrds hunt and peck attack.

Byrd will try to trade with Toney a few times in the fight but lose every single exchange against the sharper, more compact strikes from Toney. Toney walks away with a title, and Byrd retires after his most entertaining fight to date.

I think Toney might have some trouble in this fight. Byrd is so damn cautious......and would force Toney to fight his fight in the center of the ring.

I really dont know. If it went to the trenches...I would pick Toney by Decision. If the fight plays into Byrd's hands...I would see Byrd winning by Decision.

I see the fight as 50/50.

Oh and I think this fight would be ****ing boring.

Toney by a wide decision. 117-111 variety.

I hope they put the State of Michigan Title on the line

i do not like this match-up. as i mentioned, it's very likely to be a boring fight. however, if this fight get's made and toney pulls out the decision, it gives wladimir klitschko the opportunity to take the title from him. i say this because toney very well could beat byrd. and toney/klitschko is a much more interesting fight in my opinion.

on a sidenote: i wish they had subtitles for when toney speaks because i can barely understand the guy.

It would also be a much better fight and more one sided if Toney came in in a good condition and a reasonable weight. I want to like Toney but he SEEMS lazy. I understand he probably puts some work in but I'd love to see him with some pep.
