Nah, I'm not buying that fight. I havent paid for a Pac fight since Clottey, and still havent seen the Mosley fight. I doubt that I ever will watch it.

Why would I pay $50 to watch an old guy who is clearly shot and can no longer pull the trigger?

And why would I pay $50 to watch another old guy jump two divisions, when it is clearly obvious based on his previous attempt at welter that Marquez is largely ineffective above 135?

" who else can he fight " ?

Victor Ortiz, the third best welter on the planet.

It is absurd that Manny thinks that Victor Ortiz is " not ready ", and yet the midget Marquez, who has already failed at 147..... is ready

" give the guy some credit at least for fighting the top contenders of the WW division "

When did that happen genius ?

FACT: Pac has only ever fought TWO welters at 147, one was an old man and the other one was a bum. Neither were ranked higher than 4, and neither should have been in the top 5.

Where the hell do you get this stuff ?

Cotto was likely the 4th ranked welter when Pac fought him, but Manny would not fight him without a catch-weight.

You are drinking the cool-aid there buddy.

It is amusing that Manny ducked Shane TWICE, but then fought him when EVERYONE could see that Shane was shot and that he could no longer pull the trigger

Wake up, Pac has a largely manufactured resume, he has been a " made man " since Marquez II. He has " tip-toed through the tulips " with impeccable timing. It is all about timing and styles, and the manipulation of advantages.
      Correction in bold.

Why does Pac choose to give 27% to Top Rank ?

This report is amazing. Bob Arum didn't mention a word about the amount of money that Showtime paid to get the Pac/Mosley fight. He only talked about Showtime's ties to CBS. However, a few days after Golden Boy Promotions makes an announcement about the huge deal they got for Floyd Mayweather's next fight, all of a sudden Arum decides to talk about all the money he expects to get from the networks for Pacquiao's next fight.

It is obvious that Arum is trying to play one-upsmanship with Mayweather and Golden Boy. Unfortunately, no matter how much he gets for Pac's next fight, it will still be less than what Mayweather is getting. Also, there is no doubt that Pac's next fight will be on HBO no matter what Showtime offers. Why? Because Mayweather is fighting on HBO in September and Arum and Pac won't allow Mayweather to steal the limelight by fighting on the smaller network.

Also, once again, there is no way the Pac/Mosley fight sold 1.3 million PPVs. That is Arum's report that the boxing media accepted without question. I am still waiting for one of these boxing writers to do some legitimate reporting and contact Showtime to acquire the real numbers. When I was a newspaper reporter, if I had accepted any source's word as fact, especially a biased source, I would have been shown the door faster than you can say "I won't take a drug test because I am afraid of needles and it makes me weak."

And originally, a catch-weight was out of the question.

They only caved because it would obviously look bad for Manny if he was not prepared to fight the lightweight Marquez unless the fight took place at a higher weight than when Manny won his welterweight title

Arum: Pacquiao vs Marquez Will Be at 147 or No Fight.....
                //krikya360.com/arum-pacq...o-fight--33333

Come on man, EVERYBODY knows that Manny is a natural JWW, and that Ariza cannot keep any weight on Pac when he is training. He has to eat 6 meals a day and 3am/6am shakes to remain within the welterweight limit.

It would be FAR EASIER for Manny to fight Marquez at 140, and it is plainly obvious that Marquez is less effective above 135.

So, why do you think Pacquiao insisted upon the highest weight possible ?

" However, this fight only makes sense to me if it takes place at junior welterweight (and I would hope Marquez would weigh-in under 140 pounds). Why Pacquiao and company refuse to even consider fighting Marquez at 140 pounds (instead of the 144 or 147 they stipulate) is a very good question. The answer is obvious: they want every conceivable advantage against their aging but still-dangerous nemesis "

Pac is lovely, but lets keep it real here.
Regardless of your reliance on your sources, it is not the truth. Arum was replying to a comment that Pacquiao should come down to 135 or at most 140, and Arum said he'd only fight at 147. After Manny P. slaughtered Margarito at 150, he was still hurt, and said it was too much for him, and immediately relinquished the 154 title. In future, he said, he would fight ONLY at WELTERWEIGHT. He specifically said WELTERWEIGHT. That, as you damned well know, is between 140 and 147.

He is most comfortable at 144. AND, not only is he the champion, but he is the CASH COW. So he is pefectly entitled to fight at whatever weight he choses from 140-147.

Marquez has been slavering for this fight for several years, and jumped at the chance, because since MannyP. has become so famous, everyone who fights him, no matter whom, could get by far his biggest payday.

I've seen some good posts of yours so I know you're not ****** like the other cretins who want to see intestines and eyeballs hanging all over the place, so why the hell can't you keep things in perspective and not jump on out of context phrases to make your point.

Most of the posters here are purely nuts, whereas I am a SPORTSMAN, and couldn't care less who wins, but would like to see a good, even fight. I've been deeply involved as a high level participant and spectator in several major sports my whole life, and have NO favourites, other than those who show themselves to be good sports, and fair.

In this fight the best man will deserve to win, unless there is an unfortunate accident such as happened to V Klitschko in the Lewis fight. But that was a 100-1 against.

Hopefully, the fight goes to Showtime and be heavily promoted by CBS. This is great for boxing and its fans. Maybe boxing will be shown in national TV again in the future. Believe it or not, this news is also good for Mayweather vs Ortiz. Golden Boy has followed Top Rank in trying to maximize exposure for their fighters. It just too bad that they didn't take Showtime seriously like Jerry Jones, in order to grow the sport. National Free TV >>> Cable for exposure.

this fight will be on Showtime cuz HBO will ask real questions like....

1-do you agree to the random drug test? if yes why now?
                    2-why JMM now? why @144?

                    fightnight comments:

3-manny won but......144 marquez..... floyd did better....

                    after the fight:

1-manny are you willing to take the RANDOM! drug test and fight mayweather next?
2-manny but are you willing to take the test yes or no?

In the meantime we've already seen JMM fight and look embarrassing at WW. Good choice for Pac outside of avoiding the blood test/Mayweather fight.

It's just sad and a disgrace that Pac demands a LW champion to fight at WW where we all know for a fact looks horrible. Then again, Bob's said its about "entertainment" and not matching the best vs the best.

Mayweather vs Ortiz @ WW >>>>>> Pac vs JMM @ WW
why compare floyd vs ortiz to pac vs jmm??hahaha insecure??haha pac did accept the blood test already beside WHO IS FLOYD asking for blood testing by the way??hahaha and jmm look bad at ww becoz your boy floyd fight him in an big weight advantage and did cheated by overweighting..smart and a coward moved by floyd!hahaha
