Nah against a guy like Ortiz Floyd wouldn't want to run around like that, that is not to say he wouldn't move a bit he always does but I don't think he would move outside to much, I think he would press in at least as much thus taking a lot of the steam off Ortiz's shots who needs room to really get off and get full power while getting some work done on the inside.

I would think Floyd would want to push Ortiz back because Ortiz is very good coming forward but going backwards he can do it a bit but that is not his thing, generally Floyd doesn't let guys fight their fight so I would think he would not want Ortiz fighting his fight.

Complete mismatch, but at least it's not Spadafora.

Good to see that vacations, trials, and taxes didn't stop this from happening.

I dont think this is a mismatch, and i give more credit to floyd for taking the fight, and not taking it at a catchweight.

If you look at floyds resume, he has never fought anyone as fresh and as powerful as Ortiz, as well as a southpaw.

I read someone saying that ortiz got outboxed by peterson, well i remember reading about floyd getting outboxed by peterson in sparring, so that arguement is null.

That makes perfect sense, and Mayweather should dictate the situation. But I think at the same time walking into Ortiz might play into Ortiz' favor.

My initial reaction to this matchup would be for Floyd to stand his ground at times, establish his right counter so Ortiz becomes a little gun shy, and as Ortiz becomes unhinged in the second half step it up and continue dominating the fight.

I'm just not sure pushing the younger bullish fighter back is the best play here imo. One thing Ortiz has is brute strength, not sure of many guys who could come forward into him from the gate.

            I agree

Not to **** on anyone's opinion, but there is pretty much no chance, obviously in a boxing match anything can happen, but this is less than 5% chance imo, Ortiz is so easy to hit, he has a relatively average left hand, and even though he is naturally right handed he has an average jab. He is fast and good power, that is not nearly enough!

I will be impressed if he sees the final bell

              No chance at all

This one should not be a PPV.

I think he can, but he better focus on his jab and footwork during training.

I think running around plays more to Ortiz's liking, Ortiz likes to take his time and have his space.

I think Ortiz would expect Floyd to move away, most fans would expect him to move away, so if he goes in that would be unexpected and even if he only does it a few times it will get Ortiz thinking thus giving Floyd more time to do his thing in other areas.

Bulling him back is probably unwise because Ortiz is likely stronger but frustrating him making him want to seek space and time accomplishes the same thing in the end.

LOL people will jump on Ortiz bandwagon now and start bashing this match up after they was just on Ortiz bandwagon a few weeks ago

but...this is not a even match up AT ALL, I guess he has a better chance since Mayweather is coming off of a Layoff

just like every other Mayweather fight...if Ortiz can't Knock Him Out...he will lose by UD, Ortiz don't have nothing to lose though, even in a Losing Effort against Mayweather this can help make him a PPV Draw, he gets to be on HBO 24/7...I am ok with this match up because it gives the NEXT GENERATION of the Welterweight Division A CHANCE to show the world what he can do

He had a draw with Lamont peterson 2 fights ago. He beat a paper chump in berto and you think he has a shot at Mayweather? Floyd should win by UD.
