yea, there are many nuances to it. its not just rushing in and getting your opponent against the ropes. imo its a dying art. mebbe because it isnt seen as being spectaular or perhaps because of the way the ams in the states and around the world have been structured. but many of the greatest fighters in history were just as skilled on the inside as they were on the outside. thats usually part of what made them the best.

again...can he fight in the inside? of course he can if he want to. now is he going to be effective? probably not because he didn't apply such style in his fights.

bottomline is...any fighter can't be good at everything. imagine if pac is a good inside fighter in addition to the weapons he already has? he'll be required to undergo an alien test.
way to kill a good discussion derp!

Exactly, there is different ways to fight on the inside, Pernell Whitaker is vastly different to say Julio Cesar Chavez when its comes to the inside.

Another very good point, Just look at Charles, Duran, etc.

It's true. I can't think of many great inside fighters he could have faced throughout his career. Reality is there pretty much isn't any.

Yeah, he's never had to show how good he is inside because the oens that have tried his specfic style is a perfect kryptonite for it. Pac has shown time and time again if you try and solely out muscle your way to the inside you are in for a long and painful night.

That's exactly it. His ability has handled the fighters, very good ones at that, that have tried to get inside. I think the problem people have had especially in recent years is they think they can muscle there way in. That is just not going to work, ever.

Like I said, I would have loved to see how Pac were to deal with Duran's inside game and excellent defense because I think it's inevitable Duran would get on the inside with Pac and then we would really see how he would do there.

From what I see, though, Pac doesn't seem like he ever wants to fight inside.

well, committing to an inside game pretty much kills one of his best assets; footspeed...so i can see why he doesn't engage in that style

and yea, Duran coming in and applying intense inside pressure...causing damage...PAC slipping back to get midrange and unloading combos? i can only daydream about scraps like that

Definitely. That's Pac's style in one, mid-range. So he use those gifts such as footspeed, handspeed and angles etc.

Man, I would just love to see that kind of match up. Something Boxing has missed for a long time between 2 ATG's.

                    I favour Duran, though.

No, as pointed out he's a mid range fighter, hence he leaps out, in and out.
