Everyone involved says both guys are the same size. Have been saying this even before the third bout was discussed.

    Arum
    Roach
    Berstein
    Marquez
    Ariza

even Floyd has said this. I can't think of anyone who claims they aren't the same size, but continue with your trolling

I think the consensus is that it sucks. Marquez just didn't look the same physically at that weight and it seemed as if it hindered him. But he can't come in too light because gaining water weight isn't going to match the strength and power of a 144lb Pacquiao. One who will still be faster than Marquez.

Second, physical advantage aside, Marquez' age will be a huge factor here. He is still mentally sharp and is an offensive machine but his legs are nearing Jones status and he's taking a lot more punishment than he used to. That Katsidis fight is all you need to see. Forget the stoppage, Marqiuez got hit a ton. If he takes half as many punches against Manny (which he will--more than Katsidis hit him, if he lasts that long), forget it. Yet another fight to line the pockets at our expense.

Pacquiao is much obviously more natural than Marquez at WW, and its going to show.

I wont give Pacquiao any more credit than I gave Mayweather for beating a blown up WW Marquez(in other words, very little)

not to mention that Marquez is ripe for the picking, and in my mind would lose to most the top 140lbers today. hes been going steadily downhill for a while now.

I find it funny that this thread is started by a b-hop who is complaining about Manny fighting a smaller guy.

This fight is no different than B-hop fighting
            Winky @ LHW
            Pavlik @ LHW
            Oscar @ MW

Manny does it once, against a guy who is the same size and it's a crime against boxing. Hopkins has made a career outta it and it's the greatest thing since slice bread. God I love double standards.

Yeah, but you also need to understand that Diaz and Katsidis both have extremely similar styles. Both are inside pressure fighters. Thus Marquez was getting hit alot more. Pacquiao isn't that kind of pressure fighter that'll come at you nonstop. Especially against counter punchers. He's more of the straight forward one two kinda of guy.

This is a completely different style match up. Pacquiao is still a linear fighter, but now he knows how to use his right hand better than before, but that won't make much of a difference here, especially if Marquez decides to not lead which was his mistake in the 2nd fight and several other fights. If he decides to just box and not make a war and get excited like he tends to do, he'll out box Pacquiao and it'll be fairly one sided aswell.

lolz haters will just keep on hating, i see another call for boycott, hehe how many fights pac that was boycotted and well had around 1 million hits?

anyway this fight is not comparable to mayeather-marquezm this is more interesting as both fighters have history and unfinished business...

                War PAC! War JMM!

I was actually against this fight, but I actually want to see it for the simply fact that Marquez is the only fighter 135-154 that will have the heart and skills to compete with Manny.

I know Marquez will come to fight and not try to run and survive like Manny's last opponents.

When I look at all the people who are against this fight, they're the same people who constantly said on this forum and several others before the 2nd fight that Marquez was too old, Pacquiao is stronger, Pacquiao has improved alot more etcetc. Then we all saw what happened there. Marquez is gonna come to fight, and to the people who don't think this is competitive, you're being fooled by media. You're being fooled by Pacquiao's last performances. You need to look at this from a stylistic stand point.

This is gonna be a competitive hard fought fight. Not a boring one sided one.

I guess the only good thing about it is that packy will once again have all the advantages and he can end Marquez career and the notion that he would give him a good fight.
