i think it's prudent on peterson's part. let's be real. he's doing this for the money. he's not a knockout artist, his style isn't particularly crowd pleasing, and he doesn't have a star personality. another loss or two pretty much forever puts him in the "opponent"/"gatekeeper" role of the division. i dont think theres enough money in that role to motivate him to keep goin. i wouldn't call him mentally weak. based on his performances in the bradley and ortiz fights, his two hardest fights where he competed quite well. i think you have him mixed up with his brother (BUUZZZZZINGG!) who found the easy way out against rios.

I just think that I'm the best in the division," said Peterson.
Funny guy, was completely out boxed by the midget Bradley and faced the canvas twice vs Ortiz and badly hurt before the coward Ortiz start to run the last 4 RD's. If you were the best in the division, why didn't you accept a career high pay day (300K) against Khan to challenge him for the WBA belt ?
      Clown !

He genuinely deserved more. His name would have sold all seats at the M.E.N and also more ppv.he is the most high profile name Khan was willing to fight. To start off with it didnt start as $300k,they offered him far lower than that then he told them to take their business elsewhere. When he finally agreed to the $300k they wanted a rematch clause with him earning the same money to defend his title. That's where the problem was.

            He sounds way too overconfident.

Lamont has absolutely nothing to be confident about.

                  I can't stand delusional boxers.

If there's one thing Lamont Peterson has shown in his career, it's that he has a ton of heart and more guts in the ring than, say, Victor Ortiz has ever hoped for. This is just frustrated talk from a guy who's career has been handled badly ever since he got his shot at Bradley.
