Oscar De La Hoya- HE WAS IN CHARGE of the matchmaking, you idiot.. do you know anything.. it was OSCAR that wanted the fight at 147... he moved down 2 classes, pac had to move 2 classes up.. its simple boxing history, that pac-haters like to not remember...

Ricky Hatton- Pac beat him at 140.. Ricky's best weight.. where he was undisputed champion.. mayweather beat a 147 Ricky, which was NOT his best version

Miguel Cotto- catchweight was only 1 pound difference in which Cotto comes in at.. and Cotto has recently came out and has said HE WAS NOT WEIGHT DRAINED......

Clottey- was a good fighter, and a threat.. and alot of people thought he was going to give pac a challenge

Margarito and Mosley- i have some issues with, negatives, and positives.. but if i was to post... it would be to long.. maybe some other time

Apart from being old and shot, and fighting at welter for the first time in 7 YEARS, the Hoya that 27% fought was 145lb two weeks before the fight, 145lb at the weigh-in, and 145lb on fight-night.

If you front up at a concert to play "beethoven", but end up playing "Mary had a little lamb", then you will NOT be given credit for a virtuoso performance, no matter what..... and nor should you.

* Hoya was not coming off a win - Mayweather/Forbes?
* Hoya was at a distinct disadvantage

Hatton was NEVER a top fighter - he had a ridiculous training camp, and had just had his clock cleaned by Mayflower.

That was a legit win, but hardly credible. Manny did what he should have done, and blew out a clearly overmatched opponent.

A catch-weight, for a title fight..... *** me, that is lame.

Cotto of course, flatly refused. Miguel stated "147 if you want my title, but no-title if you need a catchweight". Of course, 27% demanded a catchweight and the title, it became a sticking point to get the fight made, so Cotto was forced to concede.

But even that was not enough for 27%, he demanded 143, even though his trainer Freddie Roach agreed to 144. Luckily for Miguel he stuck to his guns, or those cherry-picking ****s would have dragged him down to 143lbs.....


Catch-weights.....

There are only two reasons to demand a catch-weight.....

1.) you are not good enough to compete with your opponent at his natural weight

2.) you are attempting to drain your opponent to gain an unfair advantage

Pacquiao tried to drain Cotto, because Manny had already fought at 147.

The 143lb demand was an absolute joke, they really tried to do a number on Cotto. Just because the bullet missed, does not lessen the intent.
