It looks bad for Lara now after that, no issue with a draw but he should try and rematch Molina again and leave this embarrassing performance behind him.

Also lol @ anyone talking about Vanes, he got a gift against Ouma and I wouldn't be surprised if Saul Roman kos him.

I think Lara should move on, every young prospect needs a tough, ugly, espn fight to get the rounds in especially since Lara had 4 fights end in the first round.

He needs to prove that he had an off night.

Just another overrated Cuban. Nothing we haven't seen before. They were built for the amateurs, not for the pros. That cute cheeky **** just doesn't work at this level.

He got lucky. Most if not all of the big names have gotten a gift or 2. Hopefully the near-loss experience will shock him out of believing his own press and he'll apply himself toward realizing his full potential.

Ouma is a stiffer stellar then molina.molina is practically unknown.the 2 should fight the battle of big mouths, little productivity.

Agreed with you but lara is not going to be a world champ alot of these cubans are just good for the amatures and get beat in the pros real easy due to all there flashyness doesnt work against top fighters lara needs to rematch molina and win good

A lot of people here are criticizing Lara & ain't giving any props to Molina, who ain't NO push over & is a strong decent fighter with the exception that he lacks power in his punches & was on a almost 2 year lay off!!..Molina got robbed twice against Chavez jr(draw & a lost by Majority Decision) & also has Majority decision loss against still undefeated Mike Alvarado...& Lara didn't look like he has before, for some reason he was hesitant to throw punches..In a way maybe this will open doors for Lara & the people he's been calling out(Angulo & Martirosyan) will finally step up & fight him thinking he's some hype up ex-Cuban olympic team fighter..Cause the times he's called them out they've used every excuse in the book NOT to fight him..Lara does have skills & could pop, so just because he got a draw doesn't mean he a scrub & he has admitted that he will only learn from this to become a better fighter..

I'm mot a fan of Lara or Vanes.

But Lara did better against Molina, then Vanes did against Ouma.

I had Ouma up by two rounds.

Biased? You Rome these boards hyping up your boyfriend and you call me biased?

                    Go F##k yourself.
HAHAHA OWNED! I don't think that dude would be coming back to this THREAD

I can't stand BIASED FANS, guys who have their heads SO FAR UP THEIR FAVORITE FIGHTERS ASS that they can't even be honest about their favorite fighter

not big on either fighter but from what I have seen, I would take Lara over Vanes but I don't think neither can beat the TOP FIGHTERS in their division

Finally got around to watching this fight. The draw decision was okay, although I had Molina winning by one point. Poor Carlos had the misfortune of being in there against an up-and-comer. No way they were going to give him the win. I'm surprised one of the judges had the "cojones" to see it for Molina, although his score was somewhat wide. Much props to Carlos for not accepting the role of stepping stone and coming to fight.

Lara was sluggish and unaggressive, but he was just as gassed as Molina in the final round. He waited too often for the big opening, without pressing the action and creating some opportunities. I'm not a fan of Erislandy's "I go, you go" style of fighting, either. He throws punches when his opponent covers and covers when his opponent throws punches. Lara needs to hang out with fellow defector Rigondeaux and learn some countering skills.

Back to the drawing board with Lara. This bout with Molina was a blessing in disguise for him. There's no way Erislandy's ready for the big boys in the division. Maybe it'll reignite the fire in him, after so many easy KOs against inferior opposition, and wake him up to the reality that danger lurks out there. Maybe this will force his handlers to reassess his match-making pace, too. The kid has the tools, but he's still rough.
