Comments Thread For: Klitschko vs Haye: Both Sides Schedule Meeting With HBO

Reports in Germany have revealed that Bernd Boente, manager of WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, and Adam Booth, the manager of WBA champion David Haye, are coming to the United States in the next two weeks for a scheduled meeting with American cable network HBO. They plan to discuss the particulars of an American television deal for Klitschko-Haye. Sky Sports will carry the show by way of pay-per-view in England and RTL will have the rights in Germany. The two working dates for the fight are June 25 and July 2. Several soccers stadiums in Germany are being considered for the fight.

      Fark

Is this thing really gonna happen ?

I'm too clever to fall for this again, I absolutely refuse to believe it.

      WARRR Chisora !!

Really, they're talking to HBO ?

It must be regular HBO, neither surely has a big enough name to justify PPV. Especially considering that HBO hasn't even shown Klitschko fights for over a year.

Golden Boy is running a PPV on 6/18 so i would think this would be on HBO's WCB.

What does the 18th have to with anything?

This is the biggest HW fight. We might even get a 24/7 out of it this way!

Two dates are open 2nd July and 23rd June.

The thing is it would do very poorly here in the states on PPV because only posters here from America care about this fight or have ever heard of Haye so I would doubt that they do it if they want any kind of exposure.

25K buys if it's on PPV.

Come on guys; there's no chance of this being on PPV in America. It's going to be shown on delay here, because the fight is going to take place at like 11am in US time. No ones going to buy a PPV of a replay.

I would like to see HBO do a countdown for this fight, but after they promised but didn't deliver a countdown for Bradley/Alexander I don't see it happening.

If HBO does any sort of promotion it will be for Khan/Bradley in July. Klitschko/Haye will have to carry it's weight from the support of hardcore fans, so tell your friends.
