if anyone was blatant with the sucker punch, it was AA.

    We can reach a compromise.

I am not defending Abraham's actions while vilifying Donaire, just pointing some things out. Whoever gets it, didn't really need me to show it. Whoever doesn't, well, they still won't. (not talking about you by the way, you've been a decent poster)

Im glad I stayed up for some of this. Between this and the fast twitch I have been crying laughing. Abraham is no comparison to this. If you showed it in slowmo it would have taken 6min for the illegal blow to land. It is more comparable to to the Barrera/Marquez punch.

Was it Donaire's conscious intention to hit a falling opponent? The same way Abraham intentionally punched Dirrell fully aware that he was on the ground?
You're taking this way out of proportion. Montiel was technically still up when he threw the punch. Dirrell was clearly down. And in real time speed, you could hardly tell that Donaire even threw that punch. At least all I saw was that giant left hook the first time through.

Even if we deduced that he did throw that punch intentionally, Donaire wouldn't be the first guy to throw a punch at an opponent on the way down.

Montiel was out as soon as the hook landed
reflex action for Nonito to throw an extra right hand
this is no big deal at all
and fuck Dirrell, glad he got blatantly KTFO while down
I hope you don't actually think I am seriously pursuing this matter and will be bringing this up at the next WBC meeting.

Of course nobody's talking about that punch, as well nobody should. But to not do that yet paint Abraham as some kind of menace to society after throwing an essentially same punch just in a bit of a different situation is hypocritical at best.

It's something called exaggeration, you might have heard of it.

I'm no dummy, I assure you. And I'd be the first to laugh at somebody who would try to seriously call foul on that punch.

It is not the best comparison, I agree. Just the most recent example that inspired me to bring up Abraham's case and remind people that this stuff happens.

Well then I suggest finding a better example to compare with the AA situation, because the Donaire situation is completely different. A better example would have been RJJ vs Griffin. Similar fouls, similar consequences.

'Cos he barely clipped him and Montiel is a real fighter not like Dirrell.

Not looking for similar fouls, and I have no wish to bring up an old issue and compare it with an even older one. Just refreshing people's minds with a recent incident.

You should have brought up the RJJ-Griffen situation as well, now that was comparable to the AA DQ
