Sorry to burst your bubble, but just because Williams was able to make and be successful at 147 doesn't mean that he's a natural 147 lbs fighter, just looking at his body you can tell that the healthiest Williams looks is at 154+.

He will continue to get no fights at 147 like he has his whole career, because no ww would comfortably fight a 6 foot tall volume puncher at ww, he's just too much of a threat because of that fact , but only at 147, which was the point i was trying to make. At 154 and 160 he can take on the best and could become a force to be feared, but that is if he wants to be.

You mention Cotto but Cotto at the very least continues to try to fight the best out there and would rematch all his loses if given the chance. Cotto fights at 154 even though he has no buisness fighting at that weightclass and will probably lose sooner then later, but at least he has made the effort to become a better fighter, not a complete transformation into a Pac or Marg, but a better Cotto. Paul Williams is not trying to be a better fighter, but going back to where he could be the better fighter without improving himself and sooner or later another Martinez or Quintana will come along.
You really are sadly mistaken bro.

First of all Miguel Cotto and Top Rank have never warmed to the idea of fighting Paul Williams.

Arum was asked about matching Williams up on numerous occassions with Cotto. Arum BALKED at that idea everytime. He tried to use the height excuse as well. LMAO!

Only COWARDLY PUNKS cry about height advantages. If height determines everything then the KLITSHKOS should be banned from the sport.

Diego Corrales was a 6' JR. LIGHTWEIGHT. I didn't hear Mayweather crying about fighting him. He fought him and whooped his tall ass.

Miguel Cotto and his team were afraid to take that chance.

Oddly enough once Paul vacated his belt at 147, Miguel was fighting for that same belt against Michael Jennings. LMAO!

It was pure comedy watching these welterweights like Cotto run scared of the big bad 6'2 WELTERWEIGHT KILLER!

It took an effeminite Jr. Middleweight (sergio martinez) to step up to the plate and finally slay the dragon.

I would like for them to let him crush Chavez Jr so we can be rid of boxing's biggest joke. Then he could spank Cotto and everyone jumps right back on the bandwagon. Paul done? Nah. The guy just has more options then the rest of the field. I wouldnt give a damn if he could make 126 as long as he's fighting.

I would agree if he's struggling to make weight. But, if he doesn't struggle then he's a natural WW.
too bad you stopped there, if you had finished the sentence you get a better idea of what i ment.

I never said he made 147 comfortably, or healthly just that he made that weight early in his career, but he always looked sickly at 147.

I agree with this, the future of Paul Williams is at 154 and above, not 147.

If the man can make welterweight then he's a welterweight. Why is that so hard to understand?

Arturo Gatti and Ricky Hatton walked around as high as 180 and then drained themselves to make 140. Yet I never heard to many people say they weren't legit Jr. Welterweights.

Again, boxing divisions are broken down by WEIGHT not HEIGHT.

When I wrestled, I weighed in at 145 and my height is 6'1. Guess what, I wrestled short, stocky guys that were stronger than me all the time. I had to use my height to counter their strength.

                The same applies to boxing.

Good job but it really wasn't that hard to predict Paul Williams would be ko'd if he didn't tighten up his D.

Unfortunately for him he'll probably be ko'd again because he still doesn't realize his lack of defense is what cost him the Martinez rematch. He keeps talking about a lucky punch.

That's not a good sign for his future.

Sorry you misunderstood, I wasn't saying anything about Cotto getting in the ring with Williams. I was simply saying that Cotto was succesful early on in his career, has taken some serious loses, and has made neccessary changes to better himself as an all around boxer, he didn't stop and say "well since i could handle a punch better at 140 i'm moving back now". williams should be taking advantage of the boom heading towards 154 and try to improve his skill and defense rather then just move down to where his flaws won't be a problem.

Who told you or anyone else that Paul Williams is struggling to make 147? Did Paul Williams say this? What evidence have we seen that Paul Williams is emaciating himself to make 147?

Cotto had to move to 154 because he can't make 140. He outgrew that weight class a long time ago.
