I think Cotto will trade with him, but not literally just stand in front of him to get hit. I see him switching it up Boxing and landing flurries, and reseting.

As one of these boxers mentioned in a video, "Mayorga's got more holes than Swiss Cheese" lol.

I think Mayorga's getting beat up in this fight.

Cotto will play with Mayorga like he played with Alfonso Gomez.

I don't think it's wise for Cotto to consistently trade with Mayorga, as that's Mayorga's ONLY chance of winning. As long as Cotto stays smart, fit, and in-shape, he shouldn't have too much of a problem conquering Mayorga.

Mayorga never had great stamina, and combine that with Cotto's superb body shots; I can see him wearing Mayorga down and possibly stopping him with a body attack.

As "shot" as Mayo is he still has heavy ass hands to put Cotto in ***** street and knocking him the fawk out. I think Cotto will outbox him to a decision or maybe a late round body shot KO though.

I like cotto, not his biggest fan but a fan nonetheless. He is spent. Not much left, but it still will be plenty to stop mayorga.

Mayorga is pushing 38, has fought 1 fight in 2 1/2 years and weighed in at 164 for that fight. At 154 he will be a zombie. Almost 3 years since he was stopped by mosley at 154, almost 4 since he beat vargas (not at 154) and almost 5 from the a$$ whooping de la hoya put on him.

              Plus mayorga is a

Emanuel Steward will train Cotto to NEVER let that happen. He pretty much said that yesterday, he will have a gameplan and Mayorga is dangerous early. Dont think Cotto himself would want to trade either.

The good thing is this isnt Judah, Alfonso Gomez, Michael Jennings at 147. Isnt weak Yuri Foreman at 154. This is the biggest fighter Cotto has ever faced and fights big too. Uses his size and power. I hope Mayorga can pressure him into a spot where he has to fight his way out of. I think its possible if slow Margarito could do it but well see.

I agree with you all that style for style, Cotto has the ability to embarrass Mayorga... style for style. But there is more to consider than just styles in this fight. Mayorga is a complete monster in the early rounds, 1-4. His chopping and clubbing overhand rights could spell disaster for Miguel if he should get caught with one.

Also, Mayorga will be the much bigger man come fight night. And I don't think Cotto can hurt him early on. While Cotto has decent power, he's not an Oscar, Tito or Shane, especially at 154. But Ricardo does tire from about the mid rounds on, and if he does in this fight, then I can see a possible late round stoppage for Miguel.

However, as long as Mayorga is slinging them big knuckled mitts around, Miguel is danger of getting clipped into unconsciousness. Don't forget that Yuri Foreman was able to wobble Cotto slightly. Yuri Foreman.

Yes, he does impose his strength and power on his opponents, he fights you hard if you let him. And he has surprising speed for a clubber, easily faster than Margarito.

I agree with everything in this post people forget that Mayorga was only stopped by guys with big one punch ko power something that Cotto deosnt have. Cotto is more of a thudding puncher and may have some problems early with the larger unorthodox Mayorga. I think Cotto will eventually outclass Mayora but it will be exciting early.
