Thanks. I never knew that. Its crazy how much he is regarded as a "championship level trainer" considering he only has the Moorer win under his belt. Who else has he had in his stable or trained besides Tyson as a kid?

Teddy worked as Cus D'Amato's assistant when Tyson was about age 15, long before Mike turned pro. Tyson was losing a few amateur fights at that time, but after Cus fired Teddy, Tyson improved rapidly.

Michael Grant (Atlas destroyed his confidence)

Donnie LaLonde (had success before Atlas, was regressing with Atlas so Donnie fired him. Teddy then took a gun to his apartment to murder him. Lalonde had success again after he fired Atlas).

Shannon Briggs (was KOed in his last fight working with Teddy so Teddy quit, but later Briggs went on to twice win a world title)

Alexander Povetkin (top contender and Olympic Gold medal winner before he started working with Teddy, but has regressed and didn't look good at all in his last fight)

Good post. I always knew teddy was a bit crazy and could go off at any minute, but he actually went to kill LaLonde? wow. I agree, wth did he do to michael grant? Briggs went on to do better without him. I've been following Povetkin on and off for a while, and yes the hype he had going with him died down some after he pulled out of his fight with wlad. Some people claim they just were not ready to fight wlad at the time. Either way, i dont see him beating either Klits brother. Is it me, or is teddy a bit overrated? People often throw his name around with Dundee, D'amato, and Steward???????????

Steward seems to be on the decline as a trainer, but hes still one of the best out there(depending on the style of the fighter).

his commentary is a little bit wacky lately, but thats not always the best way to judge someones boxing knowledge.
