    Only hardcore fans are mad

    for the making of Pacquiao vs Mosley. A couple of my friends who are casual boxing fans love the idea of this fight. They told me that it's great a fight because Mosley is very fast, bigger, powerful puncher, and has a lot of experience.

    I told them that people are not happy because Mosley didn't look good in his last fight and they were like "everyone has bad nights and it was a bad stylistic match up." They think that Pacquiao will show why he's greater than Mayweather because of the fashion he will beat Mosley.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not too happy for this fight because I would rather see Pac vs Marquez/Berto.

    By the way, I wish to know if Arum had the finals say in the making of this fight and not Pacquiao.

      Ahahaha, exactly!! My co-workers are telling me how a good fight this is for Pac and I told them several times that Mosley is old and has been beaten by Mayweather. But they think Pac needs a rest and can't fight big guys all the time since he just came from the lower weights and how Mosley is popular. I was amazed at what casual fans think. ahahaha.

        Ali didn't face elite fighters each and every time and neither did guys like Robinson, Louis, Pep and others.

        Hell some of there opponents has records such as 5-32, 0-5 etc so Manny facing Shane (a top 5 WW) isn't the worse thing in the world.

              Exactly. They're the ones that pay the fighters, not the "few" hardcore fans, as you said.

                  Exactly. HBO and Top Rank are 1000X more concerned with what the casual/general sports fan thinks about the fight than what a relative handful of non-PPV purchasers do. Manny is at that Tyson level where it doesn't matter who he fights, it's always a must-see event.

                    i get these text messages from my buds all hyped up about the fight...its like a role reversal, they're the ones trying to sell ME the fight
