Remember now, Mayweather didn't fight Margarito because Arum wouldn't pay him enough. You said that wasn't an excuse. Which reminds me of how Pac is picking and choosing certain fighters at certain weight classes at certain weights. Demanding that JWW fight at WW, or WWs to fight at JMW. Avoiding the best at each respected weight class. There is no justification for fighting JMM at 147 or fighting Mosley at WW or JMW.... You know who he should be fighting. Not mixing and matching different fighters at different weight classes. Its a perfect example of hand selecting fighters. Are you just that blind or biased?

You have a great point but the internet was not around then. People will bump threads, pictures, quotes etc. Your wrong if you think boxing fans of today will just ignore his "actions".

I don't believe people will be so hard on Pacquiao to the point where he won't get recognition among the majority of Boxing fans who enjoy watching him fight instead of nitpicking his resume/career. The internet has helped Boxing on the viral side of things (marketing,etc), but as it stands, the hate on the internet isn't preventing Pacquiao from gaining more fans by the day because most people aren't looking for something to pin on Pacquiao to discredit him. His fans by far outweigh his naysayers.

I mentioned Leonard vs Lalonde because that's a perfect situation where Lalonde (weight wise) was at a disadvantage coming down to 168, yet still having to defend his 175 title. Who really talks about that today more than Leonard's fights with Hagler, Duran, and Hearns? Do we hold Leonard in lower regard because of that? History disagrees...

That is again another perfect example of "picking and choosing certain fighters AT certain weight classes AT certain weights" THAT IS THE POINT. Margarito was done, ONLY reason he got a fight is because he was Top Rank. Nothing more, nothing less. You know that.

ALL im asking is for the best matches to be made which is BERTO if Pac wants to fight AT 147. JMM if he want to fight AT JWW or even Martinez if he wants to defend and fight AT JMW for his title. Cotto, want really "cherry picked" but he wasn't at his best either. Yet I STILL picked Cotto to win and I give Pac all the props. I was wrong on that pick, couldn't make my mind up but at the last second went with Cotto.

As for Clottey, yes he is he is STILL a never has been and gate keeper with a last known win of beating a faded gate keeper in Judah who I really like but know his time has come and gone. Clottey was cherry picked and a made to look good fight. Nobody picked him to win and Pac was heavily favored. Clottey is just a gate keeper AT WW, hence Pac picked to fight him at the FULL 147 unlike Cotto who was a true threat and #1 at WW.

Margarito before he was busted WAS a threat. Just because Pac cherry picked him doesn't mean he's prime again. Same with mosley, just because Pac "picks" him NOW, doesn't mean he's prime anymore. Especially when some people said he was old when Floyd beat him. He was old(er), but he was STILL the #1 WW when Floyd beat him.

Same thing with Cotto. He wasn't old, but yes he was destroyed by Margarito but he was still the #1 WW and Pac destroyed him. Good win but could have been A GREAT win in my books IF he didn't fight at a catch, as he had no problem fighting De La Hoya at the WW limit of 147.

The difference is, they knew Hoya was done. Cotto was a threat and with Pac if there is a threat (AT ANY WEIGHT) they need to compensate. Same reason they originally wanted to fight Floyd at a catchweight. Or chose to fight for a vacant JMW title vs a career WW (cheater). Not a legit JMW. At least they could have "picked" a WEAK JMW. Not a WW to fight for a vacant JMW title. We all know why Margarito got the shot, he's top rank. An in house fighter made to make Pac look good. Same with Clottey.
