how the heck would a man who produced one sided beatings of highly ranked bigger fighters and generated the most dollars into the boxing industry this year would be unworthy of being chosen fighter of the year? lyle you better think harder before writing anything that is obviously biased to martinez maybe because you have already decided in your mind that sm is the fighter of the year and hearing or reading someone bringing up pacman irked you and decided to write this article. I know Sergio deserves to be fighter of the year because of his beatdown of pavlik and one lucky punch on williams but that doesnt mean pacman is unworthy of the honor... catchweights or no catchweights a small man still beat the hell out of bigger men with no lucky punches involved and that is by no means is EASY to accomplish... I know Sergio Martinez deserves to be fighter of the year for what he has done but that doesnt mean pacman or klitschko or juanma is unworthy of the award just in case the award giving body decided to give it to them. They worked hard for it.... any of them deserves it.

No, because of the performance Pac put up in those fights compared to what Hopkins did against Jones. If hopkins would of put the performance that Pac did then OK, or if Pac would of put the performance that Hopkins did then yes I would agree. But, not with that performance and a victory over Pascal won't do it either. Comeback FOTY sure, thee FOTY on the otherhand. No not even over Pac.




Why do you keep putting the Klits as one. They're 2 different guys. Wlad KO'd Chambers that just as good as or better than Pac-Clottey. Wlad stopped Peter, just as good as Marg win, now he has Chisora. So if you want to make a case for Wlad...Fine, I would not argue that.

However, Vitaly has done shit to be able to say he has had a better year than Pac. A win over Sosnowski and F'ing Briggs is not better than beating Clottey and Maragrito.

You're right I shouldn't compare both Klits. Vitaly hasn't done much compard to his bro. The point I was getting across on them was its not there fault really. They don't really have anyone to "pick" unless they pick each other. I don't really follow HW anymore but still watch it when its actually on. Pac has plenty of options where as the Klits don't. From what I've seen other than Haye there is nobody that can beat them or even gives them a fight. That's not even saying Haye would. I'm just saying that Haye is the only guy out there that COULD make it interesting.

Anyway I think your right about Hopkins and his performance over Jones. That was horrible. I still think that IF Hopkins beats Pascal that its still accomplishing more than Pac and that's assuming Hop looked great in which he will have to in order to win IN Pascals hometown. I dont think it takes much for any fighter to beat Pac as FOTY. This is the worst year I have EVER followed him and next year might even take the gravy as if Arum gets what he wants. It will be another VERY disappointing year for Pac.

Martinez and Pascal sure did an excellent job, but they beat fighters their own size, whilst Pac beat fighters much more bigger than him. Think about that.

big but not skillful, just because they're were bigger, doesn't mean they had the upper hand in the ring. Pacman was by far the favorite against Clottey and Margarito which was quite obvious as those two bums have not real talent.

Sergio Martinez deserves it all the way. I really don't' think its even disputable.
