    More important than who...is when.

Which is why Shane couldn't get a fight with Manny last year but can this year.

Is it beyond the possibility that the same Mosley we saw against Mora was a very similar Mosley that we saw against Floyd.

Is it beyond the possibility, that Shane's ranking on the p4p list was a bit inflated compared to his in-ring ability at the time?

15 months off for a 38 year old fighter... is kind of a big deal.

And, though he may of been ranked high on the p4p list, we have to look at why.

Because of a fight he had 15 months ago.

I dont want him to share the ring with pac either, but that doesnt change the fact he was old well before the Mayweather fight. Its a big gap between a great performance and a decent one. If it was great for Mayweather it would be decent for Pac now, as I had it decent for Mayweather it is now garbage. Mosleys slippage started well before he had his ass handed to him by Floyd he wasnt great when Floyd beat him and suddenly deteriorated.

Then goes on to get embarassed by Mora.

Now all of sudden Pac steps up and wants to fight him? You seriously have to be kidding me.

Of course he was old before the Mayweather fight. But he was the biggest threat in the division, highly ranked and the #1 fighter at welter. What is he now? That's the difference.

More important than who is when.

He was the biggest threat in the division based off a performance that happened 15 months prior.

              That is the key here.

Everything about Mosley was based off a fight that happened two Januaries ago.

His threat, his p4p ranking, his welterweight ranking.... everything was based off of something that happened 15 mos. ago...

Against Mora I think we saw the real 2010 Mosley...

If Mosley would of came back and looked great against Mora, or even knocked him out... then I would be inclined to agree, that Floyd had everything to do with the way Mosley looked...

              But it wasn't JUST Floyd..

I couldnt agree more. Vernon Forrests wins over Mosley were huge, Winkys wins over Mosley were both damn good, Cottos win over Mosley was very good, Floyds win over a 38yr old Mosley fresh from a 15 month layoff was decent.More important than who is when.

                    Very true.

Vernon Forrests wins over Mosley were huge.
                    Huge is an understatement.

No, not really. I thought you said more important than who is when? Mosley was coming off a controversial defeat over an aging Oscar. Wasn't like he was considered some pound for pound king. I'd say it was a good win.
Cottos win over Mosley was very good.
Again, timing and result. Very good win for Cotto and proved his legitimacy. But Mosley wasn't considered some pound for pounder at the time. It was more about whether Cotto could step up.
Floyds win over a pound for pound #3, #1 at 147 Mosley...More important than who is when.
Couldn't have said it any better myself.
