I think every fight is hard to sell...
I mean when manny fights it's really not that much advertised I remember when Floyd was fighting sugar Shane Mosley there was advertisement everywhere and manny vs margarito was just slightly promoted
They went on basically the name they had...
Didn't even give the ppv a name or anything...

Idk maybe it's just me but I dnt think they promote as much as they should be

I don't get it. It's like people have lost their perspective around here. He was fighting MICHAEL KATSIDIS. And getting punched in the mouth at least 15 times a round. No disrespect to Katsidis but can you imagine what Manny's going to do to a fatter version? When Floyd fought Marquez, weren't people aware that it was a tuneup and nothing more? i agree with arum, berto hasnt done SHT to be poppin his gums about pacquiao, the first time him and mosley were going to fight the earthquake canceled it, the second time he asked for a 50/50 split which made shane turn to mora in september, who da hell berto thinks he is asking for 50% vs a legend. . thats when i disliked him, collazo took him to hell n back and i thought collazo won, why not a rematch? . he has no fanbase

he couldve fought at least fought a known guy on saturday, until he proves himself, hes out of the conversation, Marquez should be number 1 on that list to fight manny, he already gave him 2 wars he doesnt have to prove sht he deserves it

my point is you criticize pac for doing the same things floyd has done. you give excuses for floyd doing it but bash pac for it. both guys should be held to the same standard

Zero of Mayweather's signature wins have come against guys coming off loses. I bash Pac because in each of his three fights with Morales, he was coming off a loss. JMM was rebuilding from a loss to Chris John in their rematch. Hatton was damn near KO'd by Juan Lazcano (who couldn't punch at lightweight) prior to fighting Pac. Cotto was coming off a KO loss to Margarito, and a lackluster performacne against Clottey. Clottey was coming off a loss to Cotto. And Margarito was coming off a KO loss to Mosley.

Mayweather fought an undefeated Diego Corrales. Mayweather fought a Castillo coming off a win over Stevie Johnson. He fought a Baldomir coming off a win over Judah. He fought a Hatton who was undefeated and coming off a KO win of Castillo. He fought a JMM (after a two year layoff) who was coming of a win (in 75% of those watching) against then then P4P #1 and KO victories over Casamayor and Diaz. He fought a Mosley who was coming off a KO win over Margarito.

If you can't see the differences, you're either dumb, ******, or ******ed.

What?? It doesnt matter who he faces? Get out of here. He is an amazing draw but there are different levels of money. You know that right? He would make millions fighting just about anybody but you can get 10 million, or 20 million or 25 milllion etc..Get it? The other guy does matter guy. I cannot see a man that had trouble with Collazo beatin Pac. Berto has fought nobody. I agree that he shouldnt fight Mosley but unfortunately he probably does bring in the most dough. Sigh. At 147 I'd rather he fight Berto and just take his undefeated, or Alexander etc...Marquez is fine as well but at 147 it would be a mismatch.

But really, don't base your whole argument on a totally illogical suposition that somehow there is no difference between making a whole lot of money, and making a whole lot more money. IMHO if its marketed right Marquez can be just as big a draw as Mosley but it would clearly be more difficult to market for non-hardcore boxing fans.

What's changed is that Pac is fighting him instead of Money. Didn't you know the best way from going from P4P elite to bum is fight Mayweather. The best way to go from washed up bum to ATG is fight Pac. Ask de la Hoya and Hatton.

what makes u think berto would beat pacquiao? and arum is correct berto will not bring any fans or money to the table, go look at how many ppl showed up for his "biggest" fight vs quintana, he was taken to the edge vs collazo(a guy shane handled easy).. he was suppose to fight mosley instead of mora but asked for a 50/50 split like an idiot, he has done absolutely nothing to be in this convo, margarito didnt earn the pacquiao fight either but his large following had something to do with those ppv buys being so high, so it made business sense.
