    He did not give timely rematches or any rematches at all to Hagler, Hearns and Duran.

    He used the negotiation table like no one ever did before or since (with the possible exception of De La Hoya for the Hopkins and Mayweather fight).

    A great fighter in the ring, not so much out of the ring.

      bull**** hagler retired, he fought duran that same year,hearns maybe, robinson was a ***** to negotiate too....

        LOL Leonard made absolutely sure that he did not have to share a ring with hagler ever again.

        Last time I checked it was Duran, who gave a rematch to Leonard the same year, Leonard gave Duran a rematch 10 years later or so.

        Robinson was a ***** to negotiate? when did he impose ring and gloves on his opponents? when did he have his opponents fight at ridiculous catchweights? NEVER, in fact he fought for years giving away 10 pounds.

        get your facts straight before typing that kind of crap.

          I don't know anyone who HATES SRL. Some prefer Duran or Hagler, and they might think either the second Duran fight was a bogus event or the Hagler decision was wrong. And those fighters resented SRL's popularity and image. But who says they HATE him? Or that he's not a great fighter? If I put Duran and Hagler above him, does that mean I hate him?

            What's wrong with negotiating the weight and ring size? That happens in every fight across weight classes, it's just a few sometimes have all the leverage.

              Nothing wrong, but that is the type of things that separates Leonard from Robinson, Duran and the likes.

              Also, let's face it. We are not talking about minor details. We are talking about buying your fights. Leonard fought Hagler on a track. And he made Lalonde come down from lightheavy to below supermiddle.

              Imagine if Oscar made Hopkins fight at 153, you know what I am talking about.

                  Some serious hating going on in this thread...

                  I've never understood why people try to diminish a guy's ability because of what they think of him as a person. SRL was an incredible fighter. ***** puncher? Not even close...
