    Funny, the haters claim that Floyd Mayweather Jr avoided the ATG, carreer defining (sarcasm) Antonio Margarito fight yet just act like manny pacquiao didn't blatantly avoid the winner of Mosley/Margarito in order to fight a shot Miguel Cotto at a catchweight, "the people's champ" thought Shane Mosley looked too good and instead decided to go for the money fight with Cotto...

    If the Cold War doesn't end in 2 years manny's legacy is going to be tarnished. Bradley III, "chris algieri", Ruslan, JMM V, "mike alvarado" are not exactly the kind of opposition/fights a fighter of Manny's magnitude should be fighting.

      Even if the cold war ends.. Mayweather won't be enhancing his legacy. Like you mentioned there's Algieri, Ruslan, Alvarado and Marquez at top rank and they're not exactly the kind of opposition a fighter of Floyd's magnitude should be fighting.

      Floyd is doing absolutely nothing to improve his legacy right now. He'll be remembered for the glove gate against Maidana & for choosing to fight Maidana over Khan when he ignored the fan poll result conducted on his own website (fans voted for Khan). Got to hand it to Floyd when he does stuff like this and gets away with it and has people defending his legacy here.

        I still find that argument as weak. Paying off $750K not to fight Margarito, heh.

        You say Rios wasn't ready for Pacquiao? That version of Pacquiao that Marquez iced/literally put to sleep? The same can be said about Pacquiao, that he wasn't ready for Rios coming back from the most devastating loss of his career. The same can be said for Maidana, how is he ready for Floyd? How is Maidana any different from Rios? Both are come forward relentless pressure fighters with good power and chin. And no I wasn't implying that Floyd is ducking Rios, dunno how you got there.

        You mentioned Oscar didn't look healthy at 147 against Manny, it was the same with Canelo@152 against Floyd. The point which you missed was that both Floyd and Manny have made the other guy fight at a catch weight.. But the outcome of their fights wouldn't have been any different if the catch weight didn't exist. Manny and Floyd would have beaten Canelo/Oscar either way.

        For a moment let's assume that you're right about everything you say about Floyd.. Manny still leaves a better/more interesting legacy. 20-30 years after both these guys retire and if I were to buy a DVD containing the entire career of either of these guys.. I'd buy the Manny DVD in a heartbeat.. I'd watch it over and over again and still not get bored.

        When it comes to money making and business sense, Floyd will always be light years ahead of any other fighter. Legacy wise there are loads of other fighters who ***** Floyd (I won't name any since this is off topic).

        Money = Floyd
        Legacy = Manny
        I will not argue that Manny is an ATG and has a much more exciting, fan-friendly style than Floyd Mayweather.

        The Castillo that fought Hatton was how old? How old was JLC when he fought Floyd? Again, a better, more determined Castillo fought Floyd. Even Brian Kenny will tell u Floyd and Hatton got different versions of Castillo. We are not talking 2 whole years as was the case with Tszyu and Mayweather.

          Besides Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr doesn't have any other reason to be hurting from this cold war. GBP stable at least has decent opposition for Mayweather to fight. Canelo II, Erislandy Lara, WW undefeated champ Shawn Porter, Amir Khan, Keith Thurman, Matthysse etc... those all are better fights than anything Top Rank has to offer to Pacquiao.

          This ain't no hating, i'm just calling it how i see it. Top Rank has a sht stable at the moment and if the cold war doesnt end before 2016 Manny's resume is going be tarnished, the tarnishing has already begun with fights such as Pac/Rios and Pac/Algieri.

            I forgot to mention one more thing. Since you reiterated that you feel I make a "weak argument" I will attempt one last swing at the ball.

            Floyd Mayweather has an advantage that many guys do not. He is marketable on his own. When people see Floyd Mayweather they start thinking about possible fights with this guy and that guy. In other words, Floyd doesn't need a compulsive liar following him around and spewing various nonsense. Fortunately, young Floyd realized at an early age that having this creep around telling everybody what they want to hear while at the same time, robbing them blind, wasn't a good long term strategy. And as I understand it, the 750K wasn't to "avoid Margarito", it was to avoid Bob Arum. If you felt robbed or betrayed by somebody who was supposed to be looking out for YOUR best interest, would you continue to shake his hand and let history repeat itself, depriving yourself of "Bob's share"? Or would you give Bob the 750K in your wallet and tell him to kick rocks and forge your own history?

            Chalk another one up to Floyd for having the brains to cut ties and surpass anything Bob has ever done.

            Speaking of Bob, how many fighters has Bob claimed to be the GOAT? I know he claimed Ali was, then he said Floyd. Any other fighters Bob runs around calling GOAT these days? I don't pay him any attention. He probably whispers GOAT lightly in Manny's ear at night after rationing him his ******** money. What happened to the IRS thing? Did Bobby take care of Manny again and get him out of trouble?

              Since you've admitted that Pacquiao has a more exciting and fan friendly style, isn't it obvious who will leave behind a better legacy? Case closed I guess.

                  The golden boy stable has many options, but Floyd only has 2 fights left with the showtime deal before he retires. One of those two fights is the rematch against Maidana. Floyd will have one last swing at improving his legacy in his last fight in 2015. Now the question arises who from the golden boy stable will he face in 2015? We'll have to wait and watch.

                  Pacquiao dominating Rios after being knocked out cold by Marquez isn't a legacy tarnishing fight, not even close. Had the cold war ended, Manny would have gained a lot in form of the golden boy stable opposition.. but now he has to face Algieri.

                    So there is a direct correlation between exciting fighters, and great fighters? So, exactly what do you think of Whitaker? You obviously like Hopkins, as do I, but he is not exactly Joe Frazier or Tyson. Also, I take exception in a sense because often the "boring" fights to me are just as entertaining. It's amazing to watch "boring" guys like Floyd, Rigo, BHop, Sweet Pea, and others play chess while everybody else plays checkers.

                    Case closed. That's funny.

                      Yes yes Bob Arum is the devil, but let's not get off topic.. This isn't about Bob. Let's discuss Floyd and Manny and their legacies.
