great win for martinez.but some of you are overreacting, for paul williams credit he sucks, and putting martinez in the top three p4p is not right considering the top three jmm floyd and pac have won three or more belts in different weight classes.

No he didn't give it up he was politically stripped to allow Pac to win a bogus title. Sergio should have been allowed to keep the title @ 54 and 60. I thought it would be cool to have a throwback Middle-wt champion. Now he doesn't need the bogus sanctioning body title.

williams exposed wtf he just lost to the top man maybe youre not giving credit to martinez power now. Williams can still dominate welterweight even jr middleweight he can fight and beat pac at any weight in between

do you really think lil floyd will sign a fight with martinez?

they should fight again for the tiebraker, but i doubt pwill will even agree to another fight vs sergio, he didnt even want this one he kept tryna escape to the 147lb division but was forced to take this match.

i didnt think pacquiao was crazy enough to fight cotto, clottey, margarito or de la hoya, i thought he would lose all those fights, so it wouldnt shock me if the pacman next fight is vs sergio at a catchweight.

Tell em what's up Pac is the fighter that forces guys to fight under limit for belts in their division. Sergio willfully came in at a lower weight in his division and put his belt on the line. Complete opposite of Pac.

Still i didnt expect and overwhelming one shot knockout like that, i either didnt give Martinez' power enough credit or gave Paul Williams chin a little too much credit.

Now Martinez is a little more than a slick and skilled southpaw, he is a vicious power-punching knockout artist. I would like to see how he would match up with some of the super middles, since he seems like he is in a different class to the big name junior middles and middles such as Cotto, Chavez jr etc. I rekon this kid could take out Lucian Bute and then await the winner of the super six/wait for a star to arise in the two divisions below. Mayweather and Pacquiao dont want nothing to do with this ****.
                ---

Sadly, I think that this KO will hurt Martinez more help him to get the big names into the ring w/ him. I don't think that are the fighters that wouldn't fight him, cause fighters fight, but their corners and promoters won't put their fighters w/ Sergio...I don't see Manny, Floyd, Cotto or any other big name fighter getting in the ring w/ La Maravilla...I will like to see Money May fight him even that I think it'll be a boring fight...Sargio is a skilled big guy w/ power, think too big for Manny (Freddy or Uncle Bob) will not let this happen, my boy Cotto, I don't think he has a chance against Sergio and after the reaction of Manny Stewart you could see he wouldn't recommend Cotto do it. So I think he will have to go to the higher weight classes...maybe Butte or Hopkins at 168...I'll like to see him w/ Ward too....let see!!!

seriously you say williams suck when he was avoided by mosley, pac and pbf??? im pretty sure they avoided him for a reason. Reason why today williams fought martinez was because nobody wanted to fight him at welterweight. So i guess popularity makes you a top p4p because pacquiaos last 4 wins havent been against good competition martinez just beat the guy that all fighters pacquiao has faced have avoided except margarito and he beat margarito.

martinez just beat better comp in one fight that pacquiao has on his last 4 fights plain and simple

If Sergio wants to fight Pacquiao go down to 147 and fight him. Why does Pac have to give up another weight advantage when hes really a 140 pounder? Pac cant even make 154 so If Martinez thinks he can beat Pac come down to 147 and lets see whats good

Hahaha just though i would drop that in. I wouldnt mind seeing Maidana put in a similar performance to the one we have just witnessed against Khan.
Yeah, me and a bunch friends were watching it, then you hear a LOUD AS HELL "PGHT", there was no way Paul E was getting up. It was so hard that we jumped from our seats and were just speechless, I was going for Martinez, but i actually worried for Williams because he looked lifeless,i wanted to cheer for Martinez but that the way it sounded, and the way P.williams fell, it just hoped williams was ok, but These guys are true warriors, again its the reason why boxing is alive,it was a true match up, and one man dominated a true test, no politics, no BS. Martinez is so far the fighter of the year in my book
