The Ruiz fight proved that Haye is extremely susceptible to a decent jab - Ruiz hit him almost at will with his jab, and Wlad's jab is faster, more accurate and far more powerful than Ruiz's. And Haye's suspect chin would be extremely susceptible to Wlad's right cross and left hook, either of which are fully capable of delivering a one punch knock-out. Wlad's chin is also suspect, but to reach it, Haye would have to get past Wlad's jab, and he's very unlikely to be able to do that. Chambers didn't land a single clean punch on Wlad, and his speed is comparable with Haye's, although obviously he has no power, but the point is that if you don't land a single clean punch, which Chambers couldn't, then power is irrelevant.

OTOH, Vitali is much easier to hit cleanly than Wlad is, especially now that he's started to slow down. Sosnowski and Johnson were able to hit him with a good number of clean punches. Even a shot Briggs landed some good power punches flush on Vitali's chin. I think Haye is hoping that by the time he finally steps up to the plate, Vitali will have slowed down still more, to the point that he is able to land regular power shots on him. And Haye does have serious power if he lands cleanly, and nobody's chin is completely indestructible if hit cleanly and often. Vitali has a good jab, but not nearly as good as Wlad's; and unlike Wlad, Vitali never gets one-punch knock-outs.

Wlad has improved dramatically in the last three years, and is far harder to hit than he used to be, and is really just entering his prime, whereas Vitali is easier to hit than he used to be, and is past his prime.

Haye is going to cherry pick Vitali, if he fights a Klitschko at all, because he knows it's his only chance to win, and then he's going to pretend he's taken the harder opponent, and because many people - including yourself apparently - will believe him, he'll get away with it, although in fact it will be a cherry pick. And part of the reason he's delayed fighting them for so long is he wants Vitali to slow down as much as possible before he fights him.
I completely agree with this post.Vlads jab and straight right sends fear to Hayes. But inthe end I think if Hayes fights Vitali(A VERY BIG IF) he will have a couple of good moments then get beat down in the mid to late rounds.

If he believed that he would have fought Wlad this year.
