New York, NY – Two time world champion Joan “Little Tyson” Guzman makes his triumphant return to the squared circle Friday, November 5 against rugged Christopher “Kid Kayo” Fernandez in the ten round main event of “Uptown Showdown” from the Armory Track in New York, NY. The card will be aired all throughout the US, Mexico and Puerto Rico on TeleFutura, as well as in Guzman’s native Dominican Republic. Guzman, who lives and fights out of Brooklyn, NY, is 30-0-1 with 17 KO’s, and will make his debut at junior welterweight. With tremendous defensive abilities, world class boxing skills and outstanding quickness, the former super bantamweight and junior lightweight titleholder is recognized amongst the most gifted pugilists on the planet. In his most recent bout, Guzman outpointed well regarded Ali Funeka over twelve rounds to avenge a previous draw. Having shared the squared circle with elite fighters in Devon Alexander and Paulie Malignaggi, the Salt Lake City, UT based Fernandez is an experienced veteran who never backs down from a challenge. Lol I was waiting for the people to start ragging on Joan he had a testosterone problem you try cutting weight when your bodys ability to metabolize is shot to **** and see how you do. I still bet none of you sofa warriors would step up to guzman even if he weighed in at 175. Didnt Gamboa just fight someone who had 10 losses as well? I didnt see anyone but ricans talking down about that but thats expected. Hes stepping up in weight against an opponent thats been in their with other 140 lbers who have done well. I think its a good match up and it will show what Guzman has left. Id personally love to see Guzman vs Bradley or Guzman vs Maidana.

Gamboa fought 3 times in 2010, 4 times in 2009, 4 times in 2008.....that bum ass fought once a year four like 4 years...DEFEND THAT!!...lol AND DIDNT MAKE ONE WIEGHT...lol

Lol Gamboa also didnt turn pro til much later than Guzman so your justification doesnt really matter your supposed to fight as often as possible in your early career to become established. Guzman had bad management in his later career which led to his downfall. Regardless theres nothing to defend Guzman is still a world class fighter probably the best to come out of the Dominican Republic and some blogger bashing him is plain funny to me whats your professional boxing record bro?
