Ponce is a warrior, and he isn't as wreckless as he once was.

Sounds like this card at least is having some brutal knockouts that are not prematurely stopped by the refree like we a lot of times get even if the fights are turning out to be mismatches.

Ponce De Leon landed some very good punches in the first round when Escalante would leave himself open. Some good left hands by Ponce De Leon at the end of the second round and it was obvious that he was too big and strong for Escalante. During the third, Ponce De Leon landed a counter right hook that sent Escalante down and out cold on his back. The referee quickly stopped the fight.

              Biggest upset of the night.

Escalante has fought better fighters than Ponce but for whatever reason Escalante was getting hit at will. He was already swelling and looking beat before the 3rd round even started. Even in the Roman fight he was getting hit at will. Meanwhile slick quick fighters like Lock and Stark can't touch him? I thought for sure we'd be seeing Antonio vs the likes Juanma in the future.

              But I guess not lol.

Agreed. I thought De Leon was the better fighter and would win but man did he look good tonight.

I'M REALLY HAPPY for Daniel Ponce De Leon,i think he's a very good fighter and this is a very impressive win.He deserves more credit, damn he lost only vs 2 men like "PELENCHIN" in 2005 and "JUANMA";obviously featherweight division has great fighters that take the titles but i think he has his chance to become two div. world champ;GAMBOA-JOHN will collide for their WBA(Gamboa has IBF belt too),JUANMA(WBO) after he'll fight and defeat MARQUEZ is my opinion he'll move up in weight to destroy Ricky Burns(so JUANMA will be 3 div. world champion and ever for WBO)letting the title vacant...(Ponce De Leon vs ?).
Elio Rojas(WBC) vs Ponce De Leon could be good too.
