    How so?

A long lay off in Mosely and still at number 1 is just a cloud. We didn't know how he would perform VS Berto.
Mosley took a long layoff after kicking Tony's ass. Tony took a long layoff after getting his ass kicked.

Marg came back and had a poor fight, but it was a tune up. He didn't look bad though, just not great.
    Ok...and?
At 147, I only see Williams, Pac, Mayweather and Mosely beating him.
He can't make 147 so I'd pick a lot of welters to beat him.

At 154, the same names again and Martinez.
Open to discussion. We just don't know. He's never looked good at 154.

It is Pac's fault because he's not attaining these records legitimately. He won his welterweight championship at a max weight of 145 pounds. He is fighting for a light middleweight championship at a max weight of 150 pounds. His only fight at lightweight(his 6th division title) was against David Diaz.

Please read that shit. Process it. And don't reply to me. Because there is nothing you can say.

Unless you want to bring up Mayweather again... how does Mayweather get brought up in a Pac/Marg conversation?

I know the answer to that, don't reply.

So you disregard what he has done at 147 now because he jumped up to 150/154?

That still adds to your record and your ranking I believe. Lay off or not.

We don't know, but you said he defintiely isn;t top 10 anymore, so I wanted to know why.

Well, for example, Bundrage holds an alphabet belt at 154...Im thinking Margarito could still beat him.

I agree though, I wish he would have fought someone at least somewhat relevant at 154 before jumping into this fight, its hard to gauge him otherwise.

I would not be surprised to see Margarito upset by a journeyman in the next year or so though.

as for the Castillo debate: I dont think he even won the Ngoudjo fight, it was controversial. he was done at that point.
but still possibly very bottom top 10.

I don't disregard it - Margarito was the top welter of the past decade. But he's not a top junior middle. If he is, show me. What has he done there, besides lose to Daniel Santos and look mediocre against Someone Garcia?

That still adds to your record and your ranking I believe. Lay off or not.
Depends. Not if you're layoff was preceded by an immense ass kicking.

That's reserved for fighters with some semblance of accomplishments within the division.

              .
That's sorta how I feel about Tony. Just very undeserving - and this is coming from someone who likes him. What a pity. Ahh well - not worth my money but I'll watch.

WTF are you talking about??? I just said if you dont like Pac padding his stats...koo. Say that ****. But it aint pac's fault that the wbc decided to have the fight be for a title.

Dont be all shocked at the corruptness of it and cry fake tears of outrage when all you have to do is look at the lineage of the wbc 154lb title who's last real legitimate champion was floyd mayweather jr and noone who's held the belt since never really deserved it either. Where were your cries of outrage then???

Yes it is true that you need to fight there, but as fans we can also see that a boxer going up can still win by using our knowledge and logic.

For example Pac hasn't fought at 150 before, but most assume he will beat Marg at the weight. Well Marg hasn't fought there either.

I apply this to marg going up also. I feel he can beat the other names at JMW.

The long lay off was with an ass kicking, but a long lay off is bad even if you win, especially when you're 38 and the last guy was tailor made for you.

I don't think you can definitely say Marg is not top 10 JMW. Is Cotto a top 10 JMW after beating Foreman?

You can't just base it on one fight both ways.

You do realize that padding your stats is not a good thing. I don't care about his opponent or the sanctioning body. I care about the weight.

Margarito looked like shit against Garcia. That is for damn sure. But it's not like too many other fighters have been impressing me here lately either. Like is the case with Devon Alexander, Maidana, and hell Khan is a top 140 lber and Pac punks on him in sparring. Who is it that Pacquiao is supposed to prove himself against?

I know it may sound like I'm holding him to different standards than Floyd, but the guy isn't gonna get any credit whether if he fights Cotto again, Mosley, or Margarito. I think Pac would murk Bradley even though he's better in my view than Khan and Devon. The only feasible guy I see giving Pac a challenge is Martinez. Williams would be dangerous too probably, but he don't bring shit to the table and is being a big ducker himself. And it's not like anybody has a gun to your head forcing you to pay for this fight. I'm not gonna buy it either. The catch weight and fake title chasing I definitely have a big issue with though.
